Your suggestions to save the magazine are both simple and logical and will therefor never see the light of day. I’m afraid committed Leftists will ride this puppy into the ground.
I believe that time lag, as much as bias, is the death knell of the weekly. Used to be, when something hit the headlines, you could expect to get a fuller more complete analysis of the issue in a few days when your Time or Newsweek came in the mail. Now, you can get that same (and better) level of analysis online right now and for free at a multitude of sites, and even on cable if you choose wisely.
With the vaunted "24 hour news cycle" there is no market for week old news. Life has passed these relics by. Too bad, so sad.
They should try at SKI magazine and National Geographics. I just renewed both subscriptions Friday.
I’m sure it won’t matter as they already had their Obama party already.
Maybe it’s just a new policy of having only one ‘messiah’ party a year.
You know, the whole thing about stepping up to be fired got me thinking.
When the libs are put on the line to either keep their job or be let go for the rest of the group, if they are such selfless, altruistic people, why don’t they have droves and droves of people asking to be let go? Why aren’t they all throwing themselves on the unemployment grenade?
Because when their ass is on the line, we find out what kind of people they are. They aren’t superhuman, superior-moraled people as they have made you believe. They are just plain, normal people with a strong (and I would say massive) self-interest streak.
Shake out all the Slimes and Newsweak subscription litter cards and drop in the mail for proce$$ing. Send a message and clean up the planet.
However, Time is run by uber-leftists who will reform NOTHING, util the day they shut down.
You said basically what I was going to say....
FWIW- I've not opened a TIME Mag since the late 80's.....
I used to love that mag & subscribed....but they too are left bent...and it showed too often for my tastes...
I quit them over 18 yrs ago....
fwiw-
MOLON LABE
And was about as accurate as Time.
Time Magazine is owned by Time Warner, not NYT Inc. The Washington Post owns Newsweek.
