Hagel takes aim at Limbaugh, Senate colleagues (RINO attack!)

As his Senate career nears its end, Republican Chuck Hagel isn't holding back when it comes to criticizing members of his own party — including conservative talk radio hosts.

"We are educated by the great entertainers like Rush Limbaugh," Hagel said Tuesday during a speech in Washington, according to the Huffington Post.

"You know, I wish Rush Limbaugh and others like that would run for office," a sarcastic Hagel continued. "They have so much to contribute and so much leadership and they have an answer for everything. And they would be elected overwhelmingly. [The truth is] they try to rip everyone down and make fools of everybody but they don't have any answers."

Did Hagel retire

Yes. He was succeeded by the Republican Attorney General. I don't know how conservative.

I am living in Nebraska and thought Hagel was a conservative republican when I voted for him. So much for what I know about what a conservative Republican should look like. Or maybe Chuckie changed his midwest stripes on us and decided to forget representing the folks and instead spent his last several years trying to cultivate a mavoric image by siding with, first McCain and when that didn’t get him enough power then he jumped over the aisle and joined the Rats and is not even a true RINO but is instead a deserter.

We all make mistakes. Take Al Franken's mom, for instance. ;)

While I have no love for Hagel, I have asked myself if Rush and Hannity carry so much weight, how come we nominated an unqualified Republican for President and elected an unqualified person for President and, how come we were able to elect the greatest President, Ronald Reagan, without the help of either Rush or Hannity?

The nomination problem stems from the GOP’s rules pertaining, thereto, which actually allow the Dems to choose the Republican candidate.

Brilliant.

It will only be worse in 2012. Assuming Obama isn't so bad that the Dems run against him in the primaries, that will leave every Dem in the country to help us select another McCain.

***I like that funny little high-pitched squeal they always make, when the lightning hits ‘em. ;) ***

I wish you’d told me that, I keep taking my computer in for repair when I hear that strange whining squeal each time I hit the “abuse” button. But from now on I’m going to hit that button with a BIG smile on my face.

I have been advancing for sometime that these guys no longer carry the clout they once did.

Rush was credited with putting the 94 congressional elections over the top. But what has he of Sean done for us lately?

Well there was the 2006 congressional elections. Not only did we lose seats, but we lost control.

As you noted, McCain go the nomination against Rush's very vocal objections. His little operation to screw with the democratic nomination process to weaken Obama for the long haul paid off in spades. Oh wait, Obama ran a pretty seamless campaign.

And he was very vocal against the election of Obama. Guess who's going to the White House. Few people were more vocal about the bailout than Rush. I see that was passed too.

It's one thing to have positions and answers we probably all pretty much agree with. It's quite another to be able to convince a majority of others that you can't simply press a button and disconnect from them allowing you to have the last word.

First off...."we" didn't nominate McCain. I would suggest that you educate yourself on the process of the primaries.

Secondly, "we" didn't elect Obama.

Thirdly...Ronald Reagan was a conservative...and acted liked one.

Any other questions?

Hagel is a defeatist. That is his main claim to fame. Unlike other Republicans, he assumes our military efforts are doomed to defeat.

“Don’t have any answers.”

Another confirmation that RINOs and liberals have no clue. They attack that which they don’t understand.

No more “open” primaries.

No more caucuses.

No more winner-take-all primaries.

No more blue states going first.

Apportion state delegate counts according to the % of Republican votes garnered in the previous general election.

That'll do it.
