Jefferson in La., continues to be re-elected even though his is a disgrace for a congressman and or a human being. Felon is a requirement for a democommmie running for office in their bizarro world.

Your right though, Stevens needed to go and a good house cleaning of the Rinos is in order.

Respectfully,

Get a grip. We have term limits everytime we vote. What we have now is a problem that Germany had leading into WWII. It’s not who votes that matters, it’s who counts the votes that matters.

You’re just another one without a clue, listening to the MSM. if you were actually familiar with his history, you may have a different outlook. Willing to bet with Begich assuming the seat, all the charges will most likely fade away.

I'm very familiar with his history, and I've never liked him. I fully understand that you guys will miss the undisputed King of Pork though. He was a master at sucking money out of the treasury.

I wish we could have held the seat with another Republican in his place, but as far as Stevens is concerned: go to jail, go directly to jail.

Land Preservation in Virginia, 2000-2007

2001 3,026,276 37,295
2002 3,083,596 57,320
2003 3,131,116 47,520
2004 3,190,744 59,628
2005 3,236,383 45,639
2006 3,301,642 65,259
2007 3,394,278 92,636

Your day is coming. Wait till the greenies try to run your state, perhaps you'll get a little different attitude as your lands for "the public" disappear. Alaska is still waiting for the "selection process" to move forward after 50 years.

You want to talk about the "King of Pork", clue, Alaska lands are tied up the federal government. You can go do the homework. What little area the state has, is used intelligently. Alaska is next to being the youngest state in the nation, and we can't get a damn highway across it....Of course Alaska looked for a couple of nickels, because the fed tied the state up.

Your day is coming.

Unfortunately, our day is already here. We now have a democrat governor, two democrat senators, and we just voted for the democrat presidential candidate for the first time in 44 years. More and more illegal aliens and liberal northeasterners pour into our state every single day. In other words, we're in big trouble.

Anyway, I have absolutely no idea what any of this has to do with the fact that Ted Stevens got convicted of seven felonies for not disclosing his goodies from Bill Allen and company. Even had he held on against Begich, there's absolutely no question whatsoever that he was going to receive a humiliating expulsion from the Senate by his own colleagues. I also think there's almost no chance whatsoever for him to win on appeal. His only hope in my opinion is for a blanket pardon from Bush, which is a distinct possibility given that Bush is just as much into cronyism as Stevens himself.

Ted Stevens certainly had a great ride, but it's all over now. It's time to move on.

The seven felonies are pretty petty. Steven's Girdwood place was Bill Allen's second home, nice payback by an ungracious house guest, Bill Allen was one of the worst things to happen to Alaska (probably related to Pete Zamirillo.) Stevens was someone who you could actually get an appointment with, make a plan, and get results. As a small placer mining operation in the 80's and 90's we got results from contacting Stevens. It wasn't money we sought, just protection over red tape.

As we tumble headlong at this damn socialism sweeping across America, Stevens always helped us in our efforts locally to stop it. Not perfect, but a hell of a lot better than what we are going to get.
