GOP congressman: 'It is not your money'
World Net Daily ^ | By Joe Kovacs

Posted on 11/19/2008 6:17:04 PM PST by Desron13

Cavuto asked Knollenberg: "When the housing industry CEOs come to you and say, 'You know, [if] we go under and all the ancillary businesses – the dishwasher manufacturers, the washer-and-dryer manufacturers, the Lowe's and the Home Depots that vastly depend on our being alive and vibrant – if we go under, there's hell to pay. And then the textile manufacturer comes to you and says, 'If we go down, there's hell to pay.' And on and on and on we go. Where do you draw the line with our money?"

"It is not your money," said Knollenberg.

Cavuto screamed back, "It is! It is taxpayers money!"

Knollenberg claimed dealers are not selling cars right now because "there's no credit to get."

He explained, "If we could just remove that problem, and this is what we're trying to do, then we'd be in the position to sell cars."

It is not his any more. He was defeated by a ‘Rat. The first ‘Rat to hold the seat since 1893. At least we got rid of a RINO.

Don’t bite my head off, but Sean Hannity fights too!
Did you hear that idiot on his show today trying to say it’s all conservatives’ fault because NPR and Air America et al
continue to FAILFAILFAIL and it’s just not fair! [insert big fat WAH!! here] So naturally the only fair thing to do is reinstate the Fairness Doctrine?!?

I truly felt like I was in the twilight zone listening to the exchange. SThe crazies really ARE running the asylum!!!

The truth of "fiat" money. It ain't your money, if you stay honest.

"there's no credit to get"

Only to people with good credit so I guess in his world that means 'there's no credit to get' because banks don't want to lend money to deadbeats.

"i will say it bugs my arse to no end that we live within our means and now have to bail out credit card holders who did not have enough common sense to stay on budget."

There it is in a nutshell CanadianMusherinMI. Good for you that you don't habitually use credit. I live a relatively simple life style myself but I like it that way and I am beholden to no man and am quite comfortable. As for the debit cards; I mainly worry about my every purchase being tracked and how that information could be used by the Marxist cretins in government. I think I'm going to go all cash in the near future.

Joseph "Joe" Knollenberg is a politician from the U.S. state of Michigan, representing Michigan's 9th congressional district located in Oakland County, a wealthy suburban county north of Detroit.

On September 29th, 2008, he voted against the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008.

There are definitely at least 60 seats the Dems hold than can be taken.

If they vote for too much of the Obama agenda, they’ll be vulnerable.

We have no use for liberal Republicans.

This is why the Republicans took a whoopin on election day.

Big buisness, globalist, elites just dripping with arrogance.

Not that the Democrats are any better, they just keep touting mantras that appeal to the gimmiewannagottahave crowd.

...Knollenberg claimed dealers are not selling cars right now because "there's no credit to get." ...

What does he mean "there's no credit to get"?

If he's talking about banks not having money to loan he's full of Shiite. I work for a credit union and we've got plenty of money to lend. So do the other community banks and CU's in the area.

If he's talking about people with bad or no credit being able to get a loan then he's correct. But that's not stopping people with good credit from buying cars.

"What credit card holders are you bailing out??"

The ones at that parasite credit card company that just had themselves declared by Congress to be some form of pseudo bank so they could get in on the gravy train. Someone help me out here. Was it American Express or one of the other vampires?

I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard this.

I love seeing Cavuto get riled up lately - I think he’s about had it.

I asked my kid what he was studying and he said Africa and how powerful it was before the colonial period. He said they used extreme justice and it was so effective people didn’t worry about locking up their stuff. I kid you not. This is the truth about public school. It’s out of control. He’s 16 so it was easy to explain he was describing Sharia law. He could easily relate to the fear a young person must feel as they are publicly amputated because of accusation of theft and how people who were caught making love would be killed brutally. And I explained how that’s a big fat step backward as were the hapless Africans who fell easily before the tech superior euros. He knows. He’s got a commie teacher from UT who is a complete lefty ahole.

Speaking of vampires, doesn’t he remind you of the one in that Bram Stoker movie.

Even as I post, I'm watching news reports of the CEO’s of the three auto makers pleading for billions in tax dollars to bail out their companies while flying the D.C. on their own private jets to the tune of 20k each.

Man, I'm flat sick of this elite pompous fat cats that run corporate America and the American government.

I thought it was an oxymoron for these congressman to put the execs on the spot for spending this kind of money when these guys live high on the hog off the taxpayer.

If he's talking about people with bad or no credit being able to get a loan

That is exactly who he is talking about. The people who trade cars like they do baseball cards and don't give a rip if the money gets paid back. That is who he is talking about.

He is talking about our neighbor who has had SIX NEW CARS in less than 18 months! He hit a deer with his truck so instead of fixing it he bought a new one. He traded his wife's car (less than a year old) for a sport's car. He bought his (never employed 26 year old daughter a new car (old one less than a year old). He just traded his 'old' truck (the one he bought after he hit the deer) for a new car just last week. He is NUTS (literally)!

BTW, his wife works for the president of a bank. I would hate to see their real credit rating. The bank probably has first dibs on her check.

Some lady called Rush today to tell him she and her husband had just bought a new Cadillac, 5.5% loan,$5,000 down (that was their choice; no down payment was required), plus they traded in their old car. No hassle.

Rush was all Rush: said he was proud of her for buying a car and a gas-guzzler at that! LOL!
