Any suggestions for someone already using Firefox and NEVER uses IE???

1) Be sure you keep NOSCRIPT (a firefox extension) in place. That is a blocker of any "drive by" scripts that install themselves on your machine just by visiting a site.

2) NEVER click yes on a dialogue script that pops up when you visit a site. If you want something from the site, make sure you ask for it.

3) Since I don't use windows that much, I can't remember the name of the program......, but I think avg's antivirus software has a spoof site identifier. If you are redirected to another, unknown site (especially one from Russia, Eastern Europe or Asia), it will alert you. Google around if avg is not the correct one. There are lots of them.

My best advice, though, is to either use a Mac (much more expensive) or linux (free!). The latter will take a little time to learn, but it is not hard and the domain of "geeks" anymore. My wife actually prefers linux to windows (we have xp on a laptop here at the house), and she is almost totally computer-illiterate. MEPIS is the easiest to use version I have seen, and you can d/l it for free, and run it off a cd (makes no changes to your system) to evaluate it. Neither mac nor linux has the kind of foolishness you have to put up with out of windows.

Strange... I didn’t visit WND yesterday at all. I had one of the sites my daughters play on open - GaiaOnline.com. They feature banner ads, so I’m wondering if perhaps it’s the same ad supplier as used by WND??? Who knows. As I said though I find it curious that so many of us were hit with the same “attack pop-up” yesterday. I’m thinking it’s a random banner ad now though - it obviously wasn’t through FR. I’m going to contact the site I mentioned above to see if they received any other complaints. I’m guessing that if it was a malicious banner ad it’s probably already been taken care of by the ad hosting company. I’m also not expecting a response from Gaia - they aren’t exactly known for replying to emails. ;)

This was the first story that I came upon about this issue. I know I saw many some of which actually had legal wording about Panama at the time McCain was there. This should give you an idea of the standing for McCain (I hope).

Quote: One of the issues in question is whether the Panama Canal Zone was part of the United States at the time of McCain's birth. Turley said that military installations, such as the one in Panama, were sitting on leased land and were never part of U.S. soil. However, Harvard law professor Laurence Tribe and former Solicitor General Theodore Olson, who examined the issue for the McCain campaign, pointed to "substantial legal support" that the United States "exercised sovereignty" over the Panama Canal Zone, including a 1986 Supreme Court opinion. They also concluded that McCain was a natural-born citizen because his parents were U.S. citizens and that the Framers never intended to exclude children of military officers serving outside of the continental United States from the presidency.End Quote

I think allowing foreign nationals on our electoral ballots is much more of a dangerous precedent. Roger Calero was barred from entering the U.S. at one point by the INS for cripes sake.

>>>The DNC HAD to be aware of this, and yet they did nothing.

Berg’s filing shows that too. Berg’s filing had 2 parts. The one against the DNC is strong.

>>>You misread my intent. If a citizen can sue a president elect, then why can’t I sue any government official?

Leo Donofrio didn’t sue a president elect. His filing is against NJ Secretary of State, Nina Wells, for certifying candidates without vetting them.

British Nationality Act of 1948 (Part II, Section 5): Subject to the provisions of this section, a person born after the commencement of this Act shall be a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies by descent if his father is a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies at the time of the birth.
In other words, at the time of his birth, Barack Obama Jr. was both a U.S. citizen (by virtue of being born in Hawaii) and a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies (or the UKC) by virtue of being born to a father who was a citizen of the UKC.' "

Wow thanks for that. I've been reading about this for weeks and didn't really understand it until just now.

Obama at birth, no matter what his citizen status was in the US WAS a citizen of Great Britain.

But that leaves one question: Does "father" mean a legally married father? Or just the biological father? This could be why Obama is so unclear on whether or not his father and mother were married.

One has to wonder if Obama has information that indicates that his natural father is actually an American citizen—Davis or someone else, and therefore that he’s eligible. We really do need to see that vault birth certificate. Heck, we may need DNA tests run to determine who is the daddy. Wait...I’ve seen this plot before.....

Egads. We have a national soap opera going on.

Dean was singled out in Berg’s filing.

Most kids don’t play with kitchen knives or chain saws. I wonder why they can’t learn about guns.
