I have learned to assess the women I work with with for feminist tendencies. At my last job, there was an older woman from Texas who fit the profile of a man-hater.

She had been married once, and was supremely bitter. Any gender related conversation was a potential minefield and she monitored office conversation, interrupting when she was offended.

I was very, very careful when in her presence.
