Mumbai: At least 15 people have been injured in gunfights between two groups in at least three places in Mumbai on Thursday night.
Details are sketchy but it is believed that two gangs fired at each other at outside CST Railway Terminus, Hotel Oberoi and the popular Café Leopold restaurant in Mumbai.
The first shooting took place near the CST police station

You heard that too! To me, it sounded like the man being interviewed was saying that they assumed the family/group was jewish because they said they were and their name was. But it appears they were not...

Oh shit, the live feed just said this was an attack against Americans (and other westerners). Apparently all Americans have been taken hostage at a hotel (didn’t catch which one) and are being held on a single floor. God, I hope this report is wrong.
Trying to watch Fox and listen to Rush (who isn’t covering this)
I just turned on the live feed while they were discussing that- hard to tell. This is happening as we speak so who knows?
It scarcely seems worth asking but I will anyway - is their any confirmation on the identity of the terrorists?
I it is islamic terrorism, the hostage takers would most likely be very verbal in praising Allah.

Yes it is an attack on westerners but they also targeted poor suburbs like ville parle east and sandhurst-dockyard .
I think this is an all out attack on Mumbai .
Not per se....India of late has become rather popular with Israeli tourists. If so...then this was most certainly either Al-Q or Hizbullah. And hotels with Westerners, yeah..I have a VERY bad feeling about this.
From Fox: possible hostages in 2 hotels. Fresh explosions at one hotel (maybe the Taj?).

The Journal quoted Mumbai police commissioner A.N. Roy as saying the police are treating the attackers as terrorists who "opened fire indiscriminately."
IFK, do they have decriptions of the bad guys? Are they wearing police, military or the uniforms of say...highway repair guys? I can’t figure out how in the hell they’re still managing to execute attacks all over town if they’re not in some sort of mufti. I’d be damn careful right now...anybody knocks on your door...ask em for credentials...and pray they don’t shoot you...
Here’s hoping India revises it’s gun laws..some armed citizens might be useful right about now...
