ANYONE under 1 year of age could get a Hawaiian birth certificate until 1972.
Department of Health, State of Hawaii ^

Posted on 11/28/2008 2:37:01 PM PST by E. Pluribus Unum

Who is Eligible to Apply for the Issuance of a Late Birth Certificate in Lieu of a Certificate of Hawaiian Birth?

The Certificate of Hawaiian Birth program was established in 1911, during the territorial era, to register a person born in Hawaii who was one year old or older and whose birth had not been previously registered in Hawaii. The Certificate of Hawaiian Birth Program was terminated in 1972, during the statehood era.

Certified copies of a Certificate of Hawaiian Birth may be requested following the procedures for certified copies of standard birth certificates (see Certified Copies). The eligibility requirements for issuance of a certified copy of a standard birth certificate apply to Certificates of Hawaiian Birth. And the same fees charged for standard birth certificates are charged for Certificates of Hawaiian Birth. Copies of the set of testimony used to establish a Certificate of Hawaiian Birth may also be requested, and an additional fee is charged for each copy of the set of testimony.

Any person to whom a Certificate of Hawaiian Birth has been issued may submit a request to amend an entry, including a legal change of name, on an existing Certificate. A request to amend a Certificate of Hawaiian Birth will, however, be considered to be and treated as an application with the Department of Health for registration of a late certificate of birth in current use, unless a standard birth certificate for that person already exists in the vital records of the Department of Health. Should there be a situation of dual registration, the requested amendment will be made to the standard birth certificate on file if the required documentary evidence in support of the amendment has been submitted and evaluated to be adequate. If there is no standard birth certificate on file, an applicant is required to submit documentary evidence of the birth facts necessary to support of the registration of the late certificate of birth. If approved, the late birth certificate will be registered in place of the Certificate of Hawaiian Birth, which must then be surrendered to the Department of Health.

Well...most papers in those days printed what the hospital gave them, not something phoned in by parents. But even if this was phoned in by relatives, do you REALLY think someone in 1961 would have the foresight to plant this in the local paper to remove doubts about the infant running for President of the US in 2008?
I never said this was 100% conclusive, but combined with the birth certificate I think this issue is a dead horse people should stop beating. Let’s come up with better ways to oppose the Obama agenda and get conservatives back in power.

If it was his mothers intent on having him registered as an American it is completely plasible that his grandmother put the announcement in the paper with her address. Once he and his mother made it to the states all she had to do was apply for a delayed birth certificate. I think that is why he doesn’t want it shown. According to the article prior to 1971 it possible to give a Hawaiian citizenship even though the birth didn’t occur there.

I would think she'd say that to make him a citizen, not because she foresaw his presidential election.

OB is not acting like an innocent man. Spending nearly a million to hide your birth certificate is either extremely wasteful or there's something wrong.

But that is not proof of anything other than the fact that someone gave the newspaper the information and they printed it. Anyone, usually a family member, can pass the birth announcement to a newspaper and they will print it.

Oh, that settles it. So let's just forget about a birth certificate.
It's absolutely impossible to fake a newspaper and photocopy it 30 times. This photocopy is fake and looks fake. It was deliberately made to look old and worn and like it was copied 100 time.

Why would anyone have copied it 100 times since the early 1960's? Who would have happened to have it handy?

Nobody. It's fake. Dan Rather did it again.

They learned the lesson of monospaced fonts from the last fake, and this time spared no expense and used professional equipment and maybe even copied the fonts from a real newspaper of the period before photocopying.

FAKE FAKE FAKE!

Produce the birth certificate - long form. Place of birth, doctor who delivered him.

Then, why would there be records on him in Kenya if he wasn't born there? Why would they seal those records? Italy has no record of my father who was born to my Italian grandfather in America. Kenya is MUCH more backwards than Italy ever was, and so the mere fact that they have records on Obambi's birth is worrying.

Mysterio had written that "Like most conspiracies, this one looks like bunk as well. The paper seems to confirm that."
I meant that since any old granny can get an announcement in the paper as I did, a paper's announcement hardly makes this issue a conspiracy or bunk. The announcement if it is actually from the paper as it appears means nothing regarding Obama other that someone put an announcement there.

People file lawsuits against you and you have to respond or lose by default, even if the lawsuit is totally frivolous. Responding means lawyers and lawyers cost a lot. I don’t think his hiring lawyers to defend a suit means anything.

Seeing it as a newspaper anouncement gives some validity. As to his mom lying about such way back then, one would have to wonder what the motivation would be, would be a hell of a conspiracy to be plotted way back then thinking he would need the cover in 2009.

Although who knows what “records” can be changed and how difficult it would be to insert a fake page on file. Beginning to look like, with this many cooks in the kitchen, one would be spilling a good share of beans by now.

I would love to see this marxist go down like the Titanic like many others, but IF (and that’s a very big if) he has gone to all this much trouble its increasingly likely many other bases are covered which means there may be no way to ever know one way or the other. Sounds like the GOV in Hawaii has been puffin on Maui Wowii for a long long time.

Am beginning to think nobama has help perpetuate this just to put the Right in a bad light. Now that’s a conspiracy more beleivable.

Not an expert, but to me it looks like a copy of microfilm/microfiche which get scratched in the reader and which is the sole source for most 47-year-old newspapers.

The option was to not default, but to produce the birth certificate on the first case. Then none of the others would have been filed.

Assume you are the defendant and you are innocent. What would you do?

A. Spend a million for defense.

B. Default.

C. produce the birth certificate right away and show us for the fools we are, save money, and get about your business.

$700,000 to respond? Even if his lawyers did charge that much to file one response to a suit, why would he then not just produce it? Even someone with his access to money doesn’t spend that much to fight something so easily solved. His response could have just been to show the certificate and end the charges.

That may well be but the article posted doesn’t SAY THAT. Throwing up any old article and hanging a statement from another “hashed out” thread only leads to confusion as others point to it and say the argument is empty.

Hopefully someone who knows/remembers more will chime in, but from what I have heard, his book mentions one hospital, and he or his sister has stated another one.

I hope Chief Engineer or someone else will correct me if this is wrong.

Didn’t someone try to disqualify Dick Cheney in 1992 claiming he was really a resident of Texas, not Wyoming, and therefore ineligible to serve as VP since Constitution says Pres and VP must be residents/citizens of different States? I am sure this happened and think he defended in the same way.
There are lots of tactical ways to fight a lawsuit. Sometimes it is advantageous to move to dismiss rather than respond to the claim.

this is a dead end street.

Probably, but it is still worth pursuing, and this is not tinfoil hat stuff. The question is, was Obama born in Kenya or in Hawaii? Obama's mother legally could and probably would have obtained a Hawaiian Certificate of Live Birth for her baby had he been born in Kenya. Had she done that, certain information might be missing from the certificate: the name of the Hawaiian hospital where he was born and the name of the physician who delivered him. Guess what information is missing from the certificate widely posted on the Internet?

I do not place much credibility in the supposed statement by Obama's paternal grandmother that she witnessed his birth in Kenya, but so long as this assertion is floating around, and since being born in Kenya would render him ineligible for the presidency, it is reasonable to insist that Obama compellingly document his claim to be a natural-born U.S. citizen. This should have been resolved a long time ago.

Obama could simply have released a copy of his birth certificate with the above information, and asked Hawaiian officials and perhaps a prominent Republican or two to confirm its validity. Or he could have asked his birth hospital to make the information public. Instead he has continued to pretend that the certificate he has released is adequate to establish that he is a natural-born U.S. citizen. It is not.

The birth notice in the paper could easily have been placed there legitimately. It does not say where the baby was born, just that he was born. In any case, it is inadequate documentation of his place of birth.

Like you, I think that Certifigate will probably lead nowhere but to the embarrassment of a bunch of Republicans. Obama may have failed to release the documentation for exactly that reason.

At this point I would prefer that Obama prove his case, since I would prefer a President Obama to a President Biden, and since I don't relish the prospect of the race riots that would surely result if Obama were disqualified. Still, if he does not meet the citizenship requirements, he should not become president.
