He did his job and served well. We are all in his debt. Another young man spent his life securing our freedom. Thank you.
RIP

It brings a tear to ones eye to think that Frank that, Doud, Kennedy, Ried, Pelosi, Clinton (both), and many other, are still alive and this hero is dead.

I almost never cry these days.
Tears and prayers for Sgt. Alford’s family. And utmost respect.
This soldier is beyond need for prayer. He is comfortably ensconced in God’s arms.

But, I do have very serious questions about the Army’s apparent cavalier and almost disdainful treatment of this young man. I say “apparent” because I do not know any more than I read in the article.
However, I do know this much: The responsible officials should give the strongest benefit of the doubt to a soldier who accomplished so much so quickly before they routinely assign uncharacteristic behavior problems to dereliction of duty.
Again, I don’t know the facts or chronology of this sad episode, but it seems to me that a written apology to the family from the Secretary of the Army is in order.
Maybe that has happened.

I know your life on Earth was troubled
Only you could know the pain
You weren’t afraid to face the trials
You weren’t a stranger to the rain

Go rest high on that mountain
For your work on earth is done
Go to heaven just a shouting
Praise to the savior, God’s own son

Oh how we cried the day you left us
Gathered round your grave to grieve
Wish I could hear the angels singing
As they your soul to God receive.

Go rest high on that mountain
For your work on Earth is done
We will meet you on that morning
In the presence of God’s son

This is similar to “mad cow” disease.

Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease is part of the family of prion-caused diseases. He probably caught it from eating contaminated meat while deployed overseas.

“Day is done, gone the sun, from the hills, from the lake, from the skies. All is well, safely rest, God is nigh. Go to sleep, peaceful sleep.”

Thank you for your service SGT Alford. Rest in Peace. Salute

Godspeed Green Beret. The way it was handled from strangers who just knew him both personally and by stature who showed up at his funeral was overwhelming. Good post.

Dang blurry monitor!

I'm so glad this soldier was re-instated before his death, laid to rest in the presence of the Honor Guard, and escorted by the Patriot Riders!

Following the song was the traditional 21-gun salute

Correction: Following the song were the traditional three rifle volleys ...

From the pinnacle of heath and awareness, to this in such a short period of time. My sympathies to the family and friends, and almost as important to the nation who lost the services of such a fine man.

I believe that there is payback coming for Jamie. Our God will take care of him.

The most probable cause of this autoimmune issue is a lot of exposure to BUTYL most often as 2-butoxyethanol. I talked to this soldier’s father and asked if his son had had horrible headaches (YES!) and that they should look for blood in urine. We are poisoning our own not only in the military but in the civilian population, too. And the USA has no clue. Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease has also shown up as a birth defect for gulf war vets’ children http://www.valdezlink.com/gwv/alfordhad.htm
