ARTICLE SNIPPET: “At a press conference, Sheriff Russ Isham says authorities are not sure if the bomber acted alone.

Russ Isham: “The task force investigation noted that the individual responsible for making the bomb possesses several skills that may help the public solve this crime, including welding and electronics.”

Detectives say they believe items used in the bombing, including a cell phone, were purchased in Bend, in late November.

The arrest was made Sunday evening in the Salem area.”

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Investigators believe that at least one person involved in the plot was in the Bend, Ore. area in late November, where cell phones and other items were purchased which are believed to have been used in making the bomb. The same person who was in Bend is also believed to have taken actions “in furtherance of his plan” this past Thursday and Friday, December 11th and 12th, in Salem and in Woodburn.

Although police would not talk about how the cell phone parts were used, bombers sometimes use them to remotely detonate their explosives.”

Joshua Turnidge, 32, has been booked into the Marion County Jail on an array of charges in connection with the deadly bomb blast that killed two officers and critically injured Woodburn’s chief of police.

Turnidge was arrested Sunday night at a home on Nolan Lane in northeast Salem on charges of aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, conspiracy to commit aggravated murder, assault, possession of a destructive device and manufacture of a destructive device.”

Bruce Turnridge was arrested late Tuesday morning on charges of conspiracy to manufacture an explosive device and conspiracy to posses and explosive device. Bruce Turnridge, 57, is the father of Joshua Turnridge, 32.”
