Generally speaking, I like to assure new Cbus-area residents that when you tell anyone what part of town you're in, remember it's only an approximate location ;o)

That is so true. Generally, if you use the name of any suburb, you're talking about demographics that range from third-generation welfare mothers to execs making seven figures. (Except for Whitehall. The lost cause of Franklin County.)

The idea that Bethel/Sawmill, Worthington Hills, Lincoln Village, and the far South/Scioto Downs are in the same city (political entity) with the Short North--represented by the same politicians--is somewhat laughable.

We need a ward or district system, but the powers in office want no part of that.

Bexley will always be nice. It’s always going to be the hub of the Central Ohio Jewish community. And the governor’s mansion is there, too.

Thank you both for the information....that’s more than I’ve learned since I moved here...for sure! I guess I was getting confused, for example...that I live in a condo my son bought in zip 43085, which is called Worthington, even though I have Columbus services and, IIRC, pay Columbus taxes...but now I think I understand. I’d like to become aware of and get involved, to the extent that I can, in local politics, but then, I haven’t known what is ‘local’ for me. If I’m restricted to Worthington, that’s ok...but it seems, bottom line, the scope of what is important is really all about Columbus/Franklin County. Thanks again!

I think I’ll send an email to the gal who wrote the article and see if she will be following up...considering the guy had all those charges last time and is STILL in the country wreaking havoc.

Actually, I’m right off Sancus near the corner of Sancus and Campus View. My son was lucky to find an inexpensive ranch condo and I was able to move in last year. It’s like townhome heaven over here. Loads of rentals. Ranch condo’s in this area are difficult to find and usually very expensive. Over the past year I’ve noticed that all of the fast food places and restaurants around Polaris employee Hispanics in their kitchens...with caucasions out front. My oldest son works over at Max and Ermas at night and they’ve already been raided once. He said the word spread like fire down Polaris and alot of the restaurants struggled when illegals fled. Of course they are all right back again. And, as I’ve said, I continue to see more and more gang tags popping up around here. An apartment complex was just built on Campus View, entirely by Hispanics. Those aren’t just AG jobs...those are skilled labor, roofing & construction jobs they are taking from Americans. I was half tempted to stand in front of the site with a sign, but don’t want myself or my family to become targets. When I was first looking in Columbus there were certain high crime areas I was told to avoid...this wasn’t one of them. But apparently MS13 has a hold here too. Kinda scary. I’d almost rather not be aware..my friends just bury their heads and sons don’t worry at all. Seems people just don’t care unless or until they are affected directly in some way.

I know exactly what you mean. My step-daughter is a bartender/manager for Hoggy’s, usually on Sawmill, but sometimes at Polaris. She is fast becoming a conservative over the illegal invasion issue.

We know someone who lives in your area. Columbus taxes and services and Worthington schools for her 2nd grader. You talk about high density housing. I get claustophobic just driving over to her house.

Guess there's a good reason some call it "Fort Bexley" ;)

Let me put it this way. If the Bexley PD were used as a model for the US Border Patrol, this country would be a better place ;-)

Whoa, we just can't go having fair representation for more conservative parts of the city, now!

We're just allowed to be here to pay for it all.

I know the area well; I used to live in those apts. just south of the big Grace church on Worth-Galena Rd. The complex is now called Polaris Pointe, I think...but back when I lived there it was "Club Worthington."

Long ago, I was a Regional Manager for Little Caesar's. One of my stores was in the Kroger plaza on Park Rd. It was a nightmare.
