"With regard to the process, I am unable to provide an explanation," O'Beirne wrote on Tuesday in the email, which was obtained by The Hill. "I played no part in it, and I will not speculate why matters were handled as they were."

Obviously they have no respect for the chain of command, if they even know about it.

I use "chain of command" in the generic, not strictly uniformed military sense.

He won't be getting my vote. He didn't get it at the 08 election.

Many pro-lifers will be not voting for him, this I assure you.

Friends have friends who need work , it’s a confusing arrangement and people who take political appointments know that. In the end its may not be Chicago payola but in reality there is little difference.

The entire executive branch was once like that. Everyone, down to the lowest clerk or janitor was in effect a political appointment.

Who knows, except for the military and strictly technical positions, maybe it was better that way, or at least no worse.

Wow... imagine if Bush had done this when he took over. We’d be so much better off.

I have a huge problem with Obama getting elected, but I have no problem with him doing this. It’s his prerogative as the Chief Executive and we all know Bush should have done the same thing when he took office.

In fact, he should have done what Clinton did and fired every single US Attorney as well as every other Clinton holdover that was within reach.

He didn’t and the buried Clintonistas were instrumental in preventing him from having a smoothly functioning administration.

A new broom sweeps clean. Bush paid the price for not pushing it. Thought He could make nice. The party got sweeped, We ended up with McLame, an Powell took a dump on us all just before the flush.

So in all I don't blame zero, But I sure feel screwed

Bush's transition was delayed due to Al Gore's contesting of the Florida returns. A willing Bill Clinton refused to release transition funds until late December of 2000. Contrast this with Obama declaring an "Office of the President-Elect" as soon as possible.

Just think how hilarious all this will/would be if between January 8 and January 20th, The One, The Messiah, The Obamaiac, was found by a court of law to be not eligible to the Office of President of the United States.

I believe political payoffs in jobs is what brought the Civil Service Commission to be formed to replace the “Spoils” system.

recall that in the communist countries - Russia, East Germany, Cuba, etc. - every civilian and military department and agency had a political person who did not report to the unit chief but to the politburo.

Even when their sports teams left the country one or more of these characters would be with them dressed out in their athletic jump suits.

Are headed in that direction??

It's only going to get worse.

April 6, 2009: FR After the Inauguration Day Catastrophe, where 17,329 people were killed in a stampede, and an additional 52,836 were injured just on the National Mall, it's been all anyone could do to remember why these clowns were put in charge of the country.

Virtually none of the hidden Clintonistas who could actually hurt “W” were in jobs governed by Civil Service rules. He could have removed them INSTANTLY.

I take it former CAREER POLITICIANS under Clinton will be accepting these positions?

...many didn't leave (no doubt, w/his wanting "to get along" mindset), (CIA/DoD/SoS) many stayed-on to harrass/sabotage GWB's actions.

Yes, you are RIGHT!

I almost forget about that. They were successful too ... still GWB didn’t get rid of them.

Could have and should have. Plus rescinding every frigging one of the midnight EOs Clinton signed.

Bush was too “nice” from the very beginning. Which is why he never accomplished anywhere near what he could have accomplished.
