UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon Ban telephoned Prime Minister Ehud Olmert ahead of an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council Saturday night and said he was disappointed that Israel launched a ground offensive and "alarmed that this escalation will inevitably increase the already heavy suffering" of Palestinian civilians, the UN spokesman's office said in a statement.

A shame that they can’t take out the UN building while they are at it.

It's way past time to rotate hosting the UN building and all those diplomats.

The UN should change continents every decade, with Antartica exempted. For the next two rotations in North America, Mexico and Canada could raise their hands offering to host. That would mean the UN is OUT OF THE US for at least 180 years.

First up could be Thailand, then France.

This was suggested years ago. The Palestinians refuse to repatriate to kindred nations and cing to the myth that there once was a nation called Palestine, which never existed on any map.

I guess I should have attached a sarcasm tag since Egypt has closed her borders to the Palestinians.

There is no reason that the Palestinians should be so destitute given the amount of foreign aid they receive, from both the West and ME. No reason, I guess, except poor leadership and hatred.
