Kennedy urged those who have been helped by the program to write Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to share their stories. This may not be a good move...

C’mon, Joe, surely all that Kennedy wealth could be used to subsidize heating oil for the poor!!??!! You believe in the program, yes? Your family is very wealthy, yes?
What, you only believe in help for the poor when someone else is footing the bill?
Wow, how noble you Kennedys are — all of your family fortunes squirreled away in tax-evading offshore accounts while you shrug when your great subsidy program for heating oil to the poor falls apart.
HINT: it does not take any altruism to spend other people’s money, and it is NOT altruism to tax others to fund your pet social programs!!

Kennedy urged those who have been helped by the program to write Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to share their stories. Another true Kennedy.
Perhaps he could just ring up Comrade Putin and ask him to help the poor victims of capitalist oppression from dying in the streets...
Geez!!

Only now that its cold-—Gosh, a genetic Kennedy trait, ya know. We’ll almost cross that bridge. Put all the guns in one ship, it’ll save money. Of course we’ll be hands off if you get us the Chicago vote. I can see the island now. Promises!

This was never anything bit a PR stunt to embarass Bush.
Now that Chavez will have to turn to his left to see the POTUS there is no reason to continue and compelling political reason to stop.

I fully expect socialist Hugo Chavez and his communist supporters here and abroad to ignore economic conditions and continue paying for programs for the poor.
How dare they put greed ahead of people?
Isn’t it amazing how even avowed communists will put their own self-interest ahead of the people they claim to represent and help?

But, but, but.... I thought Chavez and Obama are buddies? How can this be? Didn’t he poor vote for Obama because stuff like this was going to be free?

Yes, thank you for “sharing”. Hey Joe, how about YOU stepping up to the plate now? Oh that’s right, you only use other people’s money to pay for these things.

Why doesn't Kennedy use money and oil from the TWO oil companies the Kennedy's own? Kenoil and Mokeen Oil.
And never mind they are held by a Kennedy family trust in Fiji, Arctic Royalty Limited Partnership. Thus avoiding US taxes.

Maybe Joe should give up his $400,000 annual salary from this non-profit and have the money directed to helping “the poor.”

HR 2638, the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Act, 2009, was signed by President Bush on September 30. It provides FY 2009 LIHEAP funding of $5.1 billion, the highest in the programs history and nearly double FY 2008 funding of $2.6 billion. Of the total, $4.509 billion has been distributed through the regular block grant program and $590 million was distributed as emergency contingency funds.
Nobody's gonna freeze.
