Jan. 28, 7:30 p.m.: Bill Ayers: “Trudging Toward Freedom” (public lecture)

Bill Ayers is a Professor of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago and has just released the Handbook of Social Justice in Education. He is noted for his work in education reform and also for his controversial history as a founder of the Weather Underground. He will discuss his life and work and their inevitable intersection in the pursuit of social justice.

I note that your January speaker roster is called “Against the Grain” yet they all have perspectives that are very much in line with what your school’s website calls the Lasallian tradition.
“Together we strive to understand and live by the five Lasallian Core Principles: Faith in the Presence of God, Concern for the Poor and Social Justice, Quality Education, Inclusive Community, and Respect for All Persons.”
I wonder if St Mary’s students are ever given the opportunity to hear speakers that go against the grain of San Francisco liberalism, such as William Bennett, or David Horowitz, or Hugh Hewitt, or Condoleeeza Rice to name a few excellent speakers.
I have not been able to find the answer on this website, but would really appreciate a short answer of a couple of conservative names to whom your students have had exposure.

Thanks for posting this, TR. I wish this scum would really get what is coming to him, but I'll be happy just to see him inconvenienced and humiliated, even if only in small and irritating ways. I will enjoy it every time he gets a hangnail or stubs his toe.

Obama is not, and never will be President to me, and to a large part that is due to his close association with human refuse like Ayers. I will never, ever forget this picture, which came out on 9/11:

Obama is an associate of a virulent anti-American radical terrorist, a member of a group who killed AMERICANS with bombs, who wished he had done more violence, whose most public moments in print are accompanied by a picture of him proudly and triumphantly standing on top of an American flag, the same flag I and my father served under, and my father was buried under. This man is one of Obama's principal patrons, who by his own admission is "guilty as sin-free as a bird", and quite proud of that.

That may not matter to the people who voted for the thug who was inaugurated today, but it matters to me, and I am not going to forget.
