Romney “far left” and “radical.” IMO, that’s just silly.
IMO, IMO. Get it?

If anyone is radical it’s you.
Look at these other responses: or do you think Free Republic is too liberal for you now?

I also note that those at the head of the signers have proposed THEMSELVES to take over at Human Events.
That’s an interesting job search strategy: find a job you want and then work to get the person holding it fired.
Well, maybe more “sleazy” than “interesting.”

Amazing how you can “note” something that doesn’t exist.

There’s no one on that list that wants to work for Human Events.

Never liked Mitt myself, he always seemed to waffle with the popular sentiment.
On Babbin, can't stand the guy. He was a shill for Boeing during the refueling tanker debate. He chose to ignore the facts and painted the issue as “buy American”, knowing that Boeing outsourced just as much as Northrop Grumman/EADS.

A conservative movement being led by someone who endorses the Huckster?

“At least Romney has a boatload of FIGHT in him and recognizes the enemy, both foreign and domestic.”

Romney is almost 62 years old, if you disregard the changes he made for this last campaign of 30 or 36 months are so, then all you find is a lifetime of liberalism and anti conservatism.

Dropping his republican registration in rebellion against Reagan, supporting only liberal democrat candidates for years until late 1993 when he reregistered as republican to run a losing race for the senate.

For the people that have only learned about Mitt Romney during his recent image rebuild, I ask them to consider where he was during the great conservative battles of the 1980s Reagan Revolution, the 1990s Gingrich revolution, the first six years of the 2000s, suddenly having a series of amazing epiphanies as he starts preparing for the 2008 campaign is not very convincing.

Here is the real Mitt Romney.

Couldn’t have had anything to do with the ads Boeing bought in Human Events and on Townhall.

I talked to him about that. His eyes were opened about Huckabee, he listened to reason, and ended up giving his vote to Alan Keyes.

Romney criticized the same sex marriage court decision publicly after it came down. Maybe he could have done more, but he could have done a whole, whole lot less. Considering how radically pro homosexuality the democrats are now, it is just plain crazy to go after Romney.

Romney was solely responsible for the institution of gay marriage in Massachusetts.

Romney was solely responsible for the institution of gay marriage in Massachusetts. It was his executive power that was used to enforce an unconstitutional, powerless opinion.

Jackson must need eternal vigilance because it sure sounded like he was back to cheerleading for the Huckster.

Gays had nothing to do with it?

He was the chief executive.

To the extent that gays had anything to do with it, it was Romney keeping his promises to them for giving him their endorsement in prior elections.

We need to attack republicans but not attack Conservatives, there is a huge difference between the two these days.

The Republicans couldn’t sell out conservatism without the connivance of the vast majority of those who are known as “conservative” “leaders.” Follow the money.

"Maybe he could have done more, but he could have done a whole, whole lot less. Considering how radically pro homosexuality the democrats are now, it is just plain crazy to go after Romney." ============================================================

Mitt Romney: "As a result of our discussions and other interactions with gay and lesbian voters across the state, I am more convinced than ever before that as we seek to establish full equality for Americas gay and lesbian citizens, I will provide more effective leadership than my opponent.

I am not unaware of my opponent’s considerable record in the area of civil rights, or the commitment of Massachusetts voters to the principle of equality for all Americans. For some voters it might be enough for me to simply match my opponent’s record in this area. But I believe we can and must do better. If we are to achieve the goals we share, we must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream concern. My opponent cannot do this. I can and will.

We have discussed a number of important issues such as the Federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which I have agreed to co-sponsor, and if possible broaden to include housing and credit, and the bill to create a federal panel to find ways to reduce gay and lesbian youth suicide, which I also support. One issue I want to clarify concerns President Clinton’s “don’t ask, don’t tell, don’t pursue” military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nation’s military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share.

As we begin the final phase of this campaign, I need your support more than ever. By working together, we will achieve the goals we share for Massachusetts and our Nation."

McCain was a compromise candidate and compromise always ends in failure. We needed a solid pro-life conservative candidate instead of a faux Democrat.
