Kill the Porkulus...for the children!

We keep hearing that the pork in the bill is 1% of the total. Tonight while channel flipping MSNBC, Maddow, had a reporterette on that said even Senator Jim Webb is upset with this "stimulus" bill quoting him as saying there is at least 100 billion of costs that do not belong in this bill. No vote tonight. Harry Reid was "mistaken" about having the votes. Dems are losing moderate Democratic Senators on this bill.
Jim Webb knows where the American public (= his constituents from a conservative state) stand on it.
Webb and Warner may both bail on the bill. There isn’t enough stimulus in the stimulus package.
I’m thinking more around $400,000,000,000.
You know, if we provide one or two votes to get them past a filibuster, I’d be ok with that - provided the Dems all vote for it.
I want this to pass, and then have our crash tied exclusively to the Dems. It’s ugly for the country, but needs to happen for our long-term survival.
oh here comes the setup—he’s inviting the RINO’s to cross the aisle now and sign the POS after shaving $100B off it. Stupid RINOs will do it, and the plan will be fulfilled. Dems never intended to get all they asked for anyway..just wait, next week it’ll pass and we will be told that everybody wins! yippeee
I would suggest that the esteemed senator has it backwards. Perhaps, and I say again, perhaps there might be 100 billion that is not fat … and that would be a generous assessment. ;-)
Only 100 billion in pork? Somehow I think that amount is much much greater.

He used AF-1 to fly 131 miles. That is totally STUPID! It costs around $7,000 an hour to operate the AVERAGE 747. You can bet it is 10X as much for AF-1.

A short trip over to Virginia from D.C. Wouldn’t it have been a lot cheaper to fly over in the Marine One helicopter rather than the 747.

I was thinking the same thing. What a waste of taxpayer money! Not only that, he used it to go to a Dem retreat which we, the taxpayers, are paying for also!
