Senator Ensign has already assured us that he will vote against this package. Unfortunately, our other senator is the one & only Harry Reid.
I sent his office the message too but I added to the end a little reminder, "please remember that you were elected to represemt your constituents, not to further your own agenda." Yeah, like he cares. . .
Honorable Senator McConnell:
I am writing to you today not only to urge you to vote AGAINST the economic "stimulus" package IN ANY FORM, but also to ask that you use any power you may have as Senate Minority Leader to make sure that EVERY REPUBLICAN SENATOR opposes this socialist spending bill.
A single Republican vote in favor of it will show that the GOP in Washington is inept, irrelevant and unwilling to follow the will of the American people. As Senate Minority Leader, it is YOUR DUTY to make sure that Senate Republicans stand with their House counterparts and send a resounding message to the socialists, to Obama and to America that WE WILL BE HEARD.
Anything less than a NO vote on the bill IN ANY FORM by Senate Republicans is UNACCEPTABLE.

I talked with a staff member for Senator Nelson (D-FL) and told her my opinion and how he will be out of a job next election if he votes yea on this pork bill.
The voice mail boxes for Senators, Snowe, Collins, and Spector are completely jammed. Some democracy, HA!

I've always felt the same way with the lack of representation from Schumer and Clinton but IF enough of us hound them they just might pay attention. Worth a shot in any event.
