Nine Dead In Shooting Rampage
UPDATED: dothaneagle.com now confirms nine dead, including the shooter.
“A gunman who shot several people in Samson and possibly Geneva has been killed near Reliable Products outside Geneva. Geneva County District Attorney Kirke Adams said there are also at least four victims who were killed.
Samson Police Chief Gary Weeks said the suspect had been shot, but it is unclear whether it was self inflicted or whether he was shot by police.
A witness at Reliable said the shooter is dead in the parking lot.....

Jalal Ahmed was even allowed to continue in the high security job despite being investigated by police for taking suspicious photos of passenger planes. Ahmed, who loads Brits’ suitcases onto planes, apparently joked he was Osama bin Laden’s nephew. But he shocked colleagues at Menzies Aviation at Luton Airport – which supplies EasyJet with baggage handlers – by being snapped hurling abuse at Tuesday’s parade.
“When we had training to counter terrorist attacks and pictures of Osama Bin Laden came up he said: ‘That’s my uncle.’” Ahmed, from Luton, who is in his early 20s, was quizzed by cops after taking pictures of transatlantic passenger aircraft. He claimed he was interested in planes and no action was taken.

Libya frees 136 Islamists close to Qaeda

Libya has freed 136 members of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, an Islamist group close to Al-Qaeda, in the past two years, the Kadhafi Foundation headed by the son of Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi said on Wednesday.
"Since the start of the dialogue two years ago, 136 members of the group have been freed," said the foundation headed by Seif al-Islam Kadhafi. "Work is continuing to release another group among the 170 remaining members," it added.

A new video, in which two German Islamists call for suicide attacks in their country, has surfaced on the Internet, the government said on Thursday. The message shows two men clad in combat gear, identified as the brothers Mounir and Yassim C -- aged 27 and 24 -- from the western city of Bonn but of Moroccan origin, a government spokesman told AFP. According to the spokesman, the pair call for suicide attacks to be carried out on German soil, adding: "Opt for life after death ... there is no peace," confirming earlier reports in mass circulation daily Bild.
The men are believed to belong to the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IBU) and the footage was probably filmed somewhere along the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, the spokesman said. Authorities have been aware of the video since the end of February and have confirmed its authenticity.

Bulgaria State Security Tipped Off about Fundementalist Islam Threats

New signals about manifestations of radical Islam in 15 Bulgarian municipalities were submitted Thursday to the State Agency for National Security (DANS). The Islamic activities were uncovered by the independent Members of Parliament (MPs) Yane Yanev, and Dimitar Abazheiv. Yanev, who is the leader of the "Order, Law and Justice" party announced the news upon conclusion of his Thursday meeting with the DANS Director, Petko Sertov.
Yanev told Sertov that there are several channels funneling Saudi Arabian and Egyptian money in Bulgaria, slated to support Islamic fundamentalism under the form of illegal schools, extra-curricular activities, bribery of the local Muslim population and even to force Bulgarian Muslims to adhere to radical Islamic practices. Magazines glorifying the Muslim religion, including comments about the September 11 terrorists attacks in New York, were among the materials submitted by Yanev to DANS.
