Family Minister Ursula von der Leyen has confirmed that Germans are having more children, saying that the tough economic situation is prompting growing numbers to seek security within the family.

In an interview with newspaper Bild am Sonntag, the minister said there has been a marked increase in births among women between the ages of 30 and 40.

The linked story doesn’t say what % of births were among immigrants/muslims...and it’s clearly a promo piece for the make-babies ministry in Berlin. The economic calamity hit hard late last year, so last year’s births have no relation to the state of the economy.

Turks?

I was wondering that too.

Are the babies mostly named Günther or Achmed?

You have to wonder. Ethnic Germans or resident Turks? Don't suppose the government there breaks it down that way.

"make-babies ministry in Berlin"

Whatever the case may be, they need more kids, they will either come from foreigners or Germans, someone needs to carry on.

"...introduced parental leave benefits for German fathers which allow them to stay at home on two-thirds of their salaries for a year."

Wow, that's generous. Is it one year per child? Why not have a big family and never have to work? Does the mother get the same benefit? Man - free money!

I was wondering about that also. It seemed an awfully quick response...to quick.

Actually, it’s not a bad idea, if you want your culture to last more than the next 20 years.

Once women were allowed to work, birthrates DIVED, since the women now had other options. Note how traditional Muslim families don’t seem to have that birthrate problem.

I completely support stay-at-home Moms (or Dads). But if the Mom is home and the Dad gets 1 year off with 2/3 pay, then neither parent is working. You mention traditional Muslim families being large. What’s your analogy compared to the German situation?

I’m not sure the best way to handle it, but once women were allowed to enter the workforce, having a family simply became one of a number of options, rather than just about the only game in town.

Unfortunately, that option doesn’t pay very well (in most societies), so lots of women forgo kids, and societies (like Japan - big time) enter a death-spiral, where there basically are not any kids left (some, but much fewer than necessary to sustain the population).

Europe is handling it differently, they’re simply giving up on their Western heritage and allowing the continent to become Muslim. It’s their choice, but it does lead to a lonely world for us, soon.

Japan basically has no immigrants. It’s almost impossible to learn the language after your childhood years, and even though many immigrants to other countries don’t learn the language, they know the alphabet. They can find businesses, they can read street signs, etc. Japan also severely restricts immigration. Furthermore, immigrants can’t blend in, ever. If a Mexican comes to the USA and learns English, you won’t know whether or not he was born here.

As it is throughout western europe, muslims compose a high percentage of those on public assistance, meaning plenty of time to make babies.

“Japan basically has no immigrants.”

I agree...and it’s hard to blame Japan, after seeing what Multi-Culturalism has done to destroy Western Society.

I just hope they can pull out of their population plunge before it’s too late...they need to have A LOT of kids, and fast, to have a shot at it.

It’s much more than that. They keep their women essentially locked up and force them to be baby factories. Also, they want to have overwhelm their hosts as quickly as possible, per the preachings of their Imams.

And they can always count on the green eye-shades types to convince all other Europeans that this is a good thing for their economy.
