I'm no tax lawyer by any means but from what I understand, there is a penalty if you owe Uncle Sam to much money at the end of the year....

I have been reading more and more about this stuff going on. How long has it been happening that the states are declaring sovereignty?
Fair tax, flat tax, income tax, whatever...doesn't matter how the number is arrived at. But what if we individuals and businesses paid our taxes ONLY to the state govt, who in turn paid a state's share tax to the Feds? Would give us more control and would bring a free market approach to taxes inasmuch that those with lower tax rates would see increases in business and population. Would also allow one state to use a flat tax and another to use the Fair tax, etc. At first glance, I'm not seeing a downside here...

What in the heck are you talking about? It's not about why a state wants to secede. It's about whether they have the right to secede.
Do you know of any law which prohibits a state from leaving the Union?
I don’t know alot about the economy. What I do know is that the federal government takes from the states and then the states must whore themselves to get some of it back.
If it was done the way the founders intended, then states that want government supplemented health care could have it, states that want a larger welfare state could have it. My point is that across this country, funds are used to support programs in states that are not beneficial to all states. Money must then be taken from each state to support the growing dependency on federal hand outs.
People would then have the opportunity to determine if they are happy with the way their state spends its money. Or they could move to a state that spends it the way they want. Then all of these liberal states could take in the socialists and leave the federalist states alone.
Your idea about each state paying a share to the feds raises a question. How was it done before the 16th Amendment? I am ashamed to admit I don’t know.

Under current law, you can indeed file for an extension, but said extension does not mean you can delay paying what the tax codes says you owe. The extension is granted to allow you to file all of the paper work at a later date. You have to pay what you owe when you file for the extension. Gotcha!
It remains to be seen whether we yet in fact have sovereign states, or a federated republic. I await being told that one or more state legislatures have officially adopted one of these fine sounding resolutions, and after that, the practical consequences of such act.
Notice, it's the people that define the authority of the United States of America - Not the States. The only way the US can be dissolved (and that's what you traitors want to happen) is through the will of the people. If the States had the power to dissolve the Union, they would have given the states that power. But of course, you neo-confederates don't really care about the Constitution.
Talking about secession is just as stupid when the Libtards talk about moving to France or Canada.
Finally it should be noted, that if South Carolina tried to make it on it's own it would be bankrupt in about a year.
