Within the lifetime of millions of us, a very smart man from another country was heard to say,
“I am afraid that all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant, and filled him with a terrible resolve”.
I hear a sleeping giant stirring. About d*mn time.

Mr. Hanson seems to be more pissed off every day.
I like it.

Not sure what this Battered American will be doing on Nov 4, '09, but on the last one, he was already mourning the Temps Perdu (having voted early and for McCain/Palin).

The usual advise to keep the head cool can be suspended in Hanson’s case. His head requires no such precautions. He can get pissed off and nail the bastards as clearly.

I am a battered American too. And the battering is going to continue for 4 years. (I remember Klinton use to do this whenever he was on foreign soil.)

I see some signs of a buyers remorse at my place of employment. Granted, it's anecdotal evidence but all revolts start small But don't we have to give Him an opportunity...???

Deep sigh... What was this battered american doing on Nov. 4 09 I don't know, since it hasn't happened yet. But I know on 11/4/2008 I was battered by being in line at 6:30 am waiting and ready to cast my ballot for McCain/Palin and against Obama/Biden. Lot of good it did.

Thanks to all those RINOs and national Republican elites who gave us John McCain.

And if anybody thinks they are going to substitute the mileage tax for the gasoline tax, dream on. That is simply a proposal to tax you twice. You will be paying the gas tax, AND the mileage tax, and be required to smile while doing so to keep Dear Leader happy.

The mileage tax is so idiotic idea, I am at loss why its even in the news.
If you drive more - you buy more gasoline - you pay more taxes. Simple enough.
Even more: cars with worse gas-mileage will consume more gas and will pay more taxes: so you are punishing less environmentally-friendly cars and reward more environmentally friendly cars. Isn’t what they want?
It’s elementary, Watson.

On Domestic Affairs, as on foreign Affairs, VDH is a brilliant writer.
A revolt is coming.
The "State Sovereignty" movement is an example of that.
Look for a repudiation of both coasts, with the Heartland leading.
This has the scent of the 1970s and the Jarvis tax revolt.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen VDH ticked off before. I like it!

We conservatives, by our quiet acquiescence over the past 70 years, have allowed this to happen.Speak for yourself, not me. I have been neither quiet or aquiescent.
