(02-26) 20:00 PST San Francisco -- U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is sending strong signals that President Obama - who as a candidate said states should be allowed to make their own rules on medical marijuana - will end raids on pot dispensaries in California.
Asked at a Washington news conference Wednesday about Drug Enforcement Administration raids in California since Obama took office last month, Holder said the administration has changed its policy.

I am very conservative, but think pot legalization makes total legal AND economic sense. Quit putting small time pot smokers in jail and start generating some revenue. It’s a win-win.

Is it illegal to grow hemp in the USA? It’s allowed in most of the world. Biggest problem hemp farmers in Canada have is that their crops get stolen by people who think they’ll get high...
It’s true. Pot is their most profitable export.
There are a great many products that can be derived from hemp. (including ethanol fuel)

This is going to be a policy change of non-enforcement, not a law change. Dope clubs, like the ones in California, will continue to live on the fringe of legality. The clubs will not be targeted, but where does the supply come from?
Wasn’t there some effort by the Bush admin to block hemp products from coming into the US?

If it’s legal we can grow our own. The the feds can concentrate on the really dangerous drugs. By the way, I don’t smoke myself.... but I used to!!

as much as I detest drugs, maybe the silver lining is if all the RATS are doped up all the time, they will completely stop voting. Maybe we can take back the country and turn it back into a Constitutional Republic based on Liberty and Personal Responsibility.
Here is an additional up side: if the Dems stay stoned all the time, the farmers are going to have to grow bumper crops of everything just to handle their munchies!!!!! Good for the economy!

Well, since I pay far more than my share of taxes (the top 25% of tax payers pays 110% of the tax burden -— because the botton get outright payments -— NEGATIVE taxes), I would like the bottom-dweller to pay at least some of their share.
Now, it is an assumption of mine that the beneficiaries of Lord Obama’s tax giveaways are also pot smokers, but I bet I am right.
It’s hard to keep straight, isn’t it. Either an axe-wielding homicidal maniac bent on violence, or a Cheeto’s eating couch potato. I wish they’d make up their minds.
