Rush Limbaugh calls on conservatives to take back nation
CNN ^ | February 28, 2009 | Staff

Rush Limbaugh brought a cheering crowd to its feet several times Saturday in Washington as he called on fellow conservatives to take back the country in the keynote speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

"We conservatives have not done a good enough job of just laying out basically who we are because we make the mistake of assuming that people know. What they know is largely incorrect, based on the way we're portrayed in pop culture, in the drive-by media, by the Democrat party," the conservative talk show host told a mostly-young crowd of energized supporters.

"We want every American to be the best he or she chooses to be. We recognize that we are all individuals. We love and revere our founding documents, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independent. We believe that the preamble of the Constitution contains an inarguable truth, that we are all endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights, among them life, liberty, freedom. And the pursuit of happiness," he said, pausing several times for enthusiastic applause.

Looking ahead to the 2012 election, Limbaugh said conservatives will have to choose the right candidate to take the country back.

So much for Rush’s 99% correct record.

If those were the only "wrong" words in Rush's "address," then I would say that he's still running at well over 99% correct! Have you seen the transcript or listened to it? WOW. I'm going to get the audio AND video versions!

It isn't necessary to refer to the poster as having "been a marine and thereby earning the right to speak his piece".

A. This is America, military and non-military alike speak their piece.

B. Are you suggesting that because the gent is former military that no one may disagree with his assertion?

“Hey, don’t be too hard on river rat.”

If he’s a marine, he can handle it. ;-)

“Just wish I knew what action to take!”

I think getting involved in the tea parties is a good start. I fully expect the Tea Party Movement to GROW! We also need some GOOD organization for helping to fund candidates running against the worst of the worst in Congress (i.e. Dana Walsh in San Fransisco). For the next elections, many who have considered their vote to be sufficient in the past will HAVE to get more actively involved from the local levels up .....

Because not many have the balls to say it OUT LOUD

I have to disagree with your assertion. Liberals for the past 40 years of my life have been saying exactly what your friend has been saying; they've just used politically correct language to say so.

How the liberals phrased their assertion? "American is so evil and awful, it deserves to lose, but only because America has been so horrible to the good people: gays, lesbians, blacks, child molesters, etc." Therefore, only gays, lesbians, blacks, child molesters, should be granted all immunity from any taxes, any slander, any lies, and confiscations and thefts."

Obviously, it is clear your friend is not calling the groups "good". I'm merely illustrating how the liberal chimera works.

Limbaugh doesn't speak for all Republicans or conservatives. Copies of the American Conservative magazine with the headline, "How radio wrecks the right," were distributed to CPAC attendees, Preston said.

"There is some criticism of Rush Limbaugh. Some people think he is a reactionary," Preston said.

It's loser like this which need to have their ideas of negativity shunned from the party because these are the exact same people who give us RINO's!

Note to the reactionaries, listen to Rush's radio show once and while, and maybe you won't be so clueless, you dumbasses!

No ma'am, I wasn't speaking in regard to myself, but in
regard to your post to river rat...

“ANY American I know wouldn't speak like that.”

If he sees this country going down the flusher, and if we
continue on the path we're on, then we are, he's earned
the right to say that.

I apologize if I jumped the gun, but I'm quick to defend
my fellow Marines, as I am quick to defend my fellow
Tennesseans.

You are right, every fire needs a spark. Some just want to be sure people understand, as I hope most do, that the tea parties’ purpose is to spark something bigger.

Sadly, you seem to be very wide of the mark. He regularly takes the detritus to task.

“Long haired, maggot infested, anabanana, good time rock and roller” is one of his favorite descriptives and is short hand for those you noted.

Excuse me, but did you even read his post?

“Liberals for the past forty years of my life have been
saying exactly what your friend has been saying.”

He said that this country has been taken over by liberals
and their agenda, and if we don't right this ship it could
run ashore quickly.

Go back and read his post, he wasn't agreeing with liberals, for Gods sake.

Outstanding post! Stimulating and inspiring. Coming from a fellow everyday American something like this serves to encourage optimism and action in myself and others. Thank you.

Imbeciles like that remind me of some of the trolls we have around here. Makes you wonder what their true motives are, doesn’t it?

Here in Tampa we have a street called Armenia Ave which is lined with numerous Colombian businesses, nearly all of which are owned by paisas. Remind me a bit of the early Cuban refugees, industrious and conservative.

I’ve listened to Rush for over 18 years and I agree with you concerning Glenn Beck.

Beck seems to be taking the fight right to Obama in a more intense way whereas Rush has become more inside the beltway.

I don’t think Rush grasps the undertow that is growing that is the driving force behind guns and ammo sales. There are reports of shortages in both firearms and ammo.

I tried to buy some 12 ga ammo online and the ammo was backordered until May 29th. The round has a .65 caliber slug with 6 double 00’s in a 6 point star patteren. It’s a crowd pleaser.

The type of slip that is an inherent risk in extemporaneous speeches. I’ll bet he issues a correction by tomorrow.

“Who is John Galt?”

Ayn Rands book Atlas Shurgged sold over 200,000 copies last year and sales are increasing. A recent report posted here on FR stated that over 8 percent of Americans have read the book and this number is growing.
