Rush Limbaugh calls on conservatives to take back nation
CNN ^ | February 28, 2009 | Staff

Posted on 03/01/2009 3:11:17 AM PST by Scanian

Rush Limbaugh brought a cheering crowd to its feet several times Saturday in Washington as he called on fellow conservatives to take back the country in the keynote speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

"We conservatives have not done a good enough job of just laying out basically who we are because we make the mistake of assuming that people know. What they know is largely incorrect, based on the way we're portrayed in pop culture, in the drive-by media, by the Democrat party," the conservative talk show host told a mostly-young crowd of energized supporters.

"We want every American to be the best he or she chooses to be. We recognize that we are all individuals. We love and revere our founding documents, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independent. We believe that the preamble of the Constitution contains an inarguable truth, that we are all endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights, among them life, liberty, freedom. And the pursuit of happiness," he said, pausing several times for enthusiastic applause.

Looking ahead to the 2012 election, Limbaugh said conservatives will have to choose the right candidate to take the country back.

You are right ... I needed some more coffee lol

Glad to see Glenn Beck on the boob tube.

Makes us laugh as I have a few scotches and the wife is making dinner.

I too am a Rush listener since '88 when I was picking up my youngest son from high school, (long story) and found him on the radio.

Problem I found is that one needs to listen to him for a while to get to understand his humor.

I thought his speech was excellent, and was very happy it was on nation wide. Like you stated ... get the message out!

You are correct, but the real problem lies in the fact that if the states that allow this cross over voting do not change their laws to prevent it, we will always be stuck with whichever lame candidate they choose for us.

“B. Are you suggesting that because this gent is former
military that no one may disagree with his assertion?”

Now did I say that? No.

What I did say was that calling his patriotism into question
because of his correct assertion was uncalled for.

I believe this man has proven his unquestionable patriotism.

I said that he had “earned” the right to say these things
and what I meant by this was that he has been endowed his
right to speak by our creator, God. But when one applies
his own blood to that right in combat, he or she has double
stamped it. That's just my opinion and if you don't agree with it, it's of no concern to me.

I don't need CNN to hear what “the enemy” is saying. I got an office full of them. Rush, or Jindal makes a speech, or maybe Palin makes a comment, and the next morning its, “did you here what that idiot said last night?, followed by laughter, and joking. I have to put up with this every morning. Thankfully the biggest instigator of this is retiring later this year.

Just curious—is your wife paisa? Very industrious and entrepreneurial group and those I know personally are politically conservative.

Hi, no, she's "Cachaca" from the city - Bogota. She's from a very conservative Catholic family. She actually had more influence on me politically than I on her.

I don't, either, but this is my wife's journey into American conservative politics and I encourage her to explore all aspects of it. : )

I have never seen (heard) Rush cry on the air. Beck is an emotional basket case.

Makes you wonder what their true motives are, doesn’t it?

Yes, sometimes. We all know as conservatives Rush is exactly right!

"You’re lamenting the decline and fall of America when the restoration of our principles requires optimism."

Look around friend..
Do YOU see ANY cause for optimism?

I think of myself as a rational pragmatist.
The ONLY thing I'm "optimistic" about is the knowledge things will get MUCH worse before enough folks get mad enough to do what is necessary --- and it ain't going to be pretty.

"You really ought to at least listen to the speech before you complain about what was or was not in it."

I listened to the entire speech - and some parts twice.

My "complaining" is not about the speech - but the fact that Rush is delusional if he thinks the "folks" I'm talking about will ever spit out the government tit, quit their slovenly ways, pull their pants up to their waste, get an education, quit dope, get a job, forsake their gang banging ways, stop selling their asses for crack and become law abiding productive members of society...

Look about. When you look into the faces of the third world illegal aliens, and broodmare bastard punks overrunning your town - can you really imagine them as the kind of neighbors YOU grew up with, just a few generations ago?

Trust me...I understand completely. He has a right to say what he wants. However, I find most Americans to be far more optimistic, in that their steady glow of patriotism within is beginning to burn and rage very BRIGHTLY (precisely due to some very UN-American activities within the ranks of our own government)! ;-)

Again, I apologize to a fellow Tennessean if I seemed
hostile toward you.

Perhaps my rage is beginning to burn a little too BRIGHTLY
out of frustration due to the very UN-American activities.

;-)) Not to worry. I have a VERY thick skin, and am an adult who can discuss these things without getting my *feelings* hurt.

Tennessee is a great state. I have a sister who has now opted to move here from the DC area. She is ultra conservative and LOVES the more rational atmosphere here in TN....and the friendly people! I’m glad to have her out of there....for many reasons.

"This is a "300" time"

The very instant it becomes acceptable public behavior to carry a weapon and shoot any invading or misbehaving miscreant I come across between the eyes -- THEN I will agree.

As it is -- I am COMPELLED by force of government enforced laws to refrain from destroying my enemy, and in fact am COMPELLED by the same force to SUPPORT my enemy and refrain from even verbally challenging or insulting them...

Now tell me, how is THAT a "300 time" ?

My parents were both LEGAL Greek immigrants, my mother from Sparta - I think I would know a "300 time" --- and this isn't it --- yet.

When it is -- call me and I'll be there.

"I'm not about to concede that some sort of critical mass has been achieved, and the majority of people are of that sort."

Well - they have achieved MAJORITY representation in the House and Senate and have moved their ineligible black racist and narcissistic poseur into the White House.

Take a look at many of our major cities - where they clearly have held "critical mass" and directed the death spiral of those cities into the abbess..... with enough momentum to effect the entire state. My own state of Kalifornicate is facing bankruptcy as a result the "enemy" gaining "critical mass".

They are using their current grasp of power to enact legislation and spending to further consolidate their position and strengthen their grasp on power - while at the same time doing everything necessary to weaken the free market forces and individual freedoms necessary to our society..

When would YOU consider them as having achieved "critical mass" -- after the frog in tepid water has been boiled to terminal condition, consumed and converted to fecal matter?

Yeah ... I had Beck on the brain.

I took a look at your page. Interesting.

I can't figure out why we are still standing as a country with these people.

But then perhaps we will be in full battle gear before too long.

Regards
