A St. Cloud lawmaker says a bill that would ban any kind of headwear in a driver's license photo is a matter of public safety. But some Muslims say they have a religious right to cover their heads.
State Rep. Steve Gottwalt says banning headwear would make it easier for law enforcement to identify people and it would make it fair for everyone.
But Suban Khalif says Muslim women wear a head scarf nearly 24 hours a day as part of their religion, and taking it off even for a few minutes is a big deal. Khalif and other Muslim women say their facial features should be enough for law enforcement to identify them.

I’m confused... you need a drivers license to ride a CAMEL??
Why don’t we just ban Muslims from getting drivers licenses? There problem solved.
That would work for me. A lot calmer drive home from work.......
“Does that mean if I claim I am Amish that they cant photograph me at all? Just wondering?”
Amish don’t need drivers licenses. They don’t drive.
“Do nuns have to remove their habit to be photographed for a license?”
Only if they want to drive.
If they allow this, I’m going to wear a football helmet for my picture. My religion allows me to protect my head while driving. By the way, I just converted to the protect your head completely religion.
