To: curiosity
Winning a backwater, redneck state like Alaska proves nothing about her ability to appeal to moderates, either.

That's what Clinton did when he was a nobody running for President in 1992.

And Reagan was out of office for five years when he ran in 1980.

Governing a "redneck" state is not an indicator of anything beyond having governing experience. You could say that Carter (also from a "redneck" state) won in 1976 more as a backlash against Nixon/Ford/Watergate than on winning moderates. One could perhaps say the same thing about Obama -- that the Democrat was inevitable no matter who it was, putting Palin in the same camp as Reagan was in 1976, that is, running a futile campaign. Nobody blamed Reagan for not winning a lost cause, maybe we shouldn't blame Palin for not winning a lost cause, either.

Palin has plenty of time to establish her credibility.

Okie dokie...you are semi-young. ;o)

Thank you for your service.
My husband was a naval aviator who resigned his commission when Carter was elected.
We were very young, trying to get ahead, during those nightmarish years.
I don’t envy young people today.
Unless someone or something puts a stop to Obama, it’s going to be so much worse than it was then.

I’ve been active, financially and personally, with the GOP for many years, too.
Even though I hated doing so, I supported McCain.
The only way I was able to do that was telling myself that I was voting for Palin. ;o)

I’m waiting to see how this latest dust-up goes before I resume that support, though.
If the Frums of the party win, then I’m outta here.
Should they win, the party will be nothing more than dem lite.

BTW, did you know that WFB and Rush were good friends?

LOL!

I had a sister...very beautiful, talented, compassionate and sweet.
I wish I could have introduced you two.
You would have loved her, and she you.

Thank you for the compliment.
That was very sweet. ;o)
