March 5, 2009 | Is Obama responsible for the meltdown of the Dow? The consistently wrongheaded Wall Street Journal's editorial page says so, as does Republican Fox News, CNN's reliably demagogic Lou Dobbs, and now CNBC (where, full disclosure, I frequently appear as a token liberal). CNBC's Jim Cramer, who bloviates nightly about stock picks, says Obama is pushing a "radical agenda" that's destroying investors' wealth. My friend Larry Kudlow, who rants nightly about nearly everything, says Obama is destroying capitalism. CNBC reporter Rick Santelli's ballistic nonsense about Obama's mortgage plan made him a pop-populist icon for a week or so.

The stock maket started into overdrive — going down — in early August 2008, shortly before Obama’s official nomination on 25 August.
In other words, Obama is the probaBle cause of what soon will be called a depression.

Thanks for the three letter description of your proclivities.
I can’t do boxes, so let me say this in a simple, unadorned manner. SPEAK FOR YOURSELF!
Zero wasn’t elected to worsen the economic slide. He was supposed to stop the slide. Bush even left him half the TARP funds to use. Can’t play the Bush card. Wall Street is voting on Zero’s moves.
Baby boomers were hoping to retire soon now they are screwed big time. All this down turn has lots of people scared and very upset. Look out Mr REICH.
wow, reich sounds unbalanced
I used to think he was a liberal worth listening to even if not agree with him but now....
this is a very very dark interview
The white guilt you cite is noble. That it is used against white folks to make them feel guilty for something that they are not responsible for is reprehensible.
That fact that whites are cowards does not excuse them, it makes them worse.Maybe he is Robert Reich. The box is a typical "look at me" display employed by people of Reich's stature.
I would like to see a 'Year Without Incumbents' movement for the 2010 election. Rs and Ds should defeat incumbents at the primary level, then hold the general election as usual. That would open a few eyes in D.C.
..
The libs think 5000 points on the Dow it was worth it - to get a black man elected
Reich reminds me of Bill Maher and Lil’ Geogie Huffandpuffalis....

Can’t we get slow Joe to ask Rubin to “stand up!”?
Robert Reich IS whitey...
My friend Larry Kudlow, who rants nightly about nearly everything, says Obama is destroying capitalism.
He doesn't even spare his 'friend'.
Finally, none of the financial wizards who are now charging Obama with leading America into the abyss have offered an alternative plan for getting us out of the mess that, not incidentally, many of these same wizards happily led us into.Moronic little troll.
Karl Denninger has alternative plans for getting out of the mess, generally involving regulating that which is legally required to be regulated, punishing the crooks, and prohibiting the financial weapons that are being used to manipulate the markets, impoverishing millions to enrich a few.
LOL!
