March 5, 2009 | Is Obama responsible for the meltdown of the Dow? The consistently wrongheaded Wall Street Journal's editorial page says so, as does Republican Fox News, CNN's reliably demagogic Lou Dobbs, and now CNBC (where, full disclosure, I frequently appear as a token liberal). CNBC's Jim Cramer, who bloviates nightly about stock picks, says Obama is pushing a "radical agenda" that's destroying investors' wealth. My friend Larry Kudlow, who rants nightly about nearly everything, says Obama is destroying capitalism. CNBC reporter Rick Santelli's ballistic nonsense about Obama's mortgage plan made him a pop-populist icon for a week or so.

“Robert Reich is afraid of whitey uprising....”
He should be, the politicians should be........ our entire country should be.
How far do they think they can push, before it breaks..... and all hell breaks out?
It ought to be obvious that Reich from his ground-level position still is able to stand head and shoulders above the fallen right and keep the path ahead in sight.
Porkulus has come home to slop.
Instead of teabags we should send the President rancid pork.
The point Mr. Reich (and nearly everyone else) misses is that there IS NO PLAN that will bring us back to the days of unsustainable hyper-consumption based on massive consumer debt and fantasy ‘profit’ off of tricky ‘financial instruments’.
Nor should there be.

Yup.....need to clean house.
Yep you are exactly right!
Clinton and the Democrats in Congress, though you're right about the RINO's contributing a share.

I was reading about the latest group of questionable Obama appointees who apparently contributed to Obama’s campaign:
Someone was from a savings and loan that had led the past savings and loan crisis, another was from some financial institute under federal investigation. It is sounding more and more like the Obama administration is steeped in corruption. This is begining to look like the Harding Administration. Obama is not actually leading on any of the legislation, he appears to be more or less a figurehead who is having his strings pulled and is obligated up to his neck to questionable folks. Am I wrong?
This article is typical of ugly liberal tactics. How can the writer ever get around to an intellectual discussion of real substance when the sources are described as (and I quote):
-wrongheaded Wall Street Journal
-demagogic Lou Dobbs,
-Jim Cramer, who bloviates nightly
-Larry Kudlow, who rants nightly about nearly everything,
-Rick Santelli’s ballistic nonsense
can I get a rolleyes smilie?
The stock market is a theoretical approximation-measurement of the discounted net present value of all future profits.
When the market goes down, it means investors are pessimistic about the future of business profits.
I hope some Republicans find effective voices to criticize the damage that is being imposed on the economy, by this redistribution and dimunition of wealth.
Romney correctly stated this was stimulation of government, not of the economy.
What is good for community organizers cannot be good for joe sixpack, or most of America.
Not directly. It’s the Dem Congress that initiated the fall over two years ago. Barry is just greasing the skids and giving a big ol’ helping push...
Is Obama responsible for Wall Street’s meltdown?
Does a Bear $%!+ in the woods?
I disagree.
While there may be some nitwits who feel guilty about something...
The reality is that Caucasians have been cowed by fear.
If you stand up and speak the truth, you could lose everything you have worked your whole life to create.
The media will try to destroy you. The judicial system will try to destroy. The political left will try to destroy you. Your car will be vandalized. Your property will be vandalized. Your family will be threatened. You may be assaulted or worse.
That's not guilt. That's fear. And it's real.
Does that mean people should allow themselves to be cowed?
No.
Stand up. Speak up. But make sure your buddies are covering your back.
