Obama's Gaffes Start to Pile Up
Town Hall ^ | March 05, 2009 | David Lambro

President Obama and his White House staff are making mistakes that continue to worsen an already deflating U.S. economy.

As the stock market plunged below the Dow's 7,000 mark -- a loss of 1,500 points since his inauguration -- Obama casually dismissed the sharp drop in equity values, comparing it to the ups and downs of a poll.

The stock market "is sort of like a tracking poll in politics," he told news reporters. "You know, it bobs up and down day to day. And if you spend all your time worrying about that, then you're probably going to get the long-term strategy wrong."

Excuse me? Tracking poll? That's like dismissing a severed hand as a hangnail.

To paraphrase Jessie Jackson “the only thing Barack 0bama has ever run, is his MOUTH”

No private sector experience, never ran a business.

Never held a job that wasn’t on a state or federal payroll, or a job that wasn’t funded entirely or in part by government.

Least amount of executive experience of ANY President in U.S. history, even less than Jimmy STP Carter.

Everett Dirksen ((R-Illinois, US Senator) 1950s and '60s

I'm old enough to remember the quote in context and I believe that Dirksen was talking about millions not trillions. That is only a 10+6 increase in magnitude!

Regards,
GtG

PS I have a sneaking hunch that 90% of the electorate has no idea what the difference between million, billion and trillion is thanks to our "dumbed down" education system.

That made me think of the scene from “History of The World” where King Louie is shooting skeet and the clay pigeons are peasants!

Wait until the classless One charges admission to the Easter Egg hunt on the White House lawn and then levies a tax on the eggs found. “That’s one egg for you little child and two eggs for ME!”

It goes back to experience...........there is none and it’s beginning to show. Democrats are beginning to see what they have done. They are finding out they just gave away their country to socialism and communism. Alinsky would be proud of them. How much longer will they put up with it before they demand and change in the Oval Office and their leaders in Congress? Can they afford to wait for another election? If they do, they will all be out of jobs.

The Village Idiot in charge has:

1. Never held a real job
2. Is expert at running his mouth and not much else
3. Consorts with communists
4. What? 7 years ago his credit card was cancelled
5. Not sure he has even ever bought a house on his own
6. Whatever he has was pretty much given to him

Personally, I think any poll that shows a 63% support for Zero is full of crap.

The Dow has only gone down 1500 since the Inauguration. How much has it gone done since his ELECTION, when it became certain that the Democrats would be in charge of all decisions during the economic crisis?

The bad part is that he makes former President James Earl Carter look like a GOOD President.

I too remember Dirksen make that remark in black and white on TV. You are correct, in the 1950s and '60s a million dollars was a huge amount of money. Today it seems to be chicken feed for government.

PS I have a sneaking hunch that 90% of the electorate has no idea what the difference between million, billion and trillion is thanks to our "dumbed down" education system.

What does one TRILLION dollars look like?
