I read somewhere that Mississippi is going to outlaw them statewide.
Same here, and being retired, I had the time to loiter around the intersection with a stopwatch, both before and after the installation. Our city council had to announce and approve the installation well in advance to comply with local laws, giving me the chance to record data well before any alterations.
The sure fire, free, prevention of T-bones, is a one second all red pause before the green in any direction.
Problem is, it's free.
“These cameras were NEVER about safety ... revenue generation was and is the goal.”
Correct. And if they ever send me a picture of my car ‘going through a red light’ I would be tempted to send them a picture of a check.
IIRC, a judge somewhere ruled that since a city had farmed out the supervision of these cameras to a third party, the city had therefore abdicated their authority to enforce the ordinance.
I’m not. While that sounds like fun, I’ve got too much of a reading stack going right now to add that, too.
