O n 29 December 2008 the Wall Street Journal ran a piece about Igor Panarin, dean of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s diplomatic academy. A former KGB officer, Panarin made a splash by predicting that America will probably come under martial law by the end of 2009, and may fracture into several states by 2011. When this happens, says Panarin, Russia and China will become the mainstays of a new global order.

I do not beleive this country will break up as stated. The people will come together and say “Enough is enough”. It may get tough for a while but people here come together real fast and will eliminate the trouble makers....one way or another.

The United States of America will NEVER cease to exist.

To believe this has one whistling past the graveyard of history.

I hope so. We border two huge rural and conservative areas of Pa. and NY-two other hopelessly Blue states (yes-Pa. is gone for good thanks to Rendell’s machinations). Sadly, I don’t foresee that these counties will be allowed to just leave peacefully.

Well, to do that you’re going to have a hard time convincing the ‘something for nothing’ voters that their utopian promises are not a good thing.

We have the government we deserve. We failed to educate the voters about how important freedom really is.

Yup. There’s still a place called England, but it bears no resemblance to the empire.

I hear what you are saying, FRiend. As a fellow jerseyite who lives within spitting distance of Camden I have seen first hand and personal what liberalism will do to a city and a people.

I was in high school in Camden when the folks burned down their own homes just for spite and imagined grievences. God knows what they will do when the welfare checks stop.

But as for me personally, I am too old, too stubborn, and too pissed off to leave my home and head for the Free Zone. The barbarians wont get my place without a fight. If it comes to that,I guess I'll team up with like minded souls and head for the Pine Barrens and fight behind the lines until......who the hell knows !

If it comes to that, my money is on us surrounding the blue zones despite being outnumbered.

I think you'll start to see that in Europe first where the clashes between "hooligans" and "poor misunderstod youth" (muzzies) are growing exponentially. Despite being heavily outnumbered the "hooligans" always seem to send the "poor misunderstood youth"

NEVER is a mighty long time. Name just one country throughout all history that hasn’t been overthrown at least once? Few countries last more than a couple of centuries before being overthrown by civil war or conquest. We’ve had one civil war already, and our society is again so polarized that another civil war seems likely.

The United States of America will NEVER cease to exist. We have problems right now, brought on by a bunch of nutbar socialists in the executive and legislative branches of government, but they can be voted out and replaced by representatives who are actually adults and conservative.

It is the height of hubris to believe that the United States is exempt from the moral laws and governing principles of nature to which all nations are and always have been bound.

The United States is not yet 250 years old. In fact, a number of the Founders themselves did not believe the Republic they created would last more than a couple of decades.

In any case, no nation has been blessed so much as the United States in the modern era. But the Gospel passage, “to whom much is given, much will be required” also applies. The United States cannot continue to steal from its producers, kill its unborn children, support perverted lifestyles, turn its back on our allies, disenfranchise its citizens and disregard its Constitution without consequences — dire consequences.

Don’t say “it can’t happen here.” That is the surest sign that it has already begun...

I think you can pretty much tell from the 2004 county by county election map, where the boundaries would be.

This is not a North vs South issue, but rather country vs city, and I don't believe there are any "red" cities.

I just hope we wind up with the military.

I believe that the opening shots of the Social War will be fired sometime during the summer of 2009

I think you are correct, and it will begin in California. That state is the best candidate for an actual shooting war to break out. The drug gangs and violence from Mexico are almost at the breaking point of civilized society right now.

In parts of Mexico proper, lawlessness has already begun. General McCaffrey has already warned us.

I think you're absolutely correct! There are VERY few blue rural areas. Even if we are out numbered by population, we have them all surrounded. Plus it is the rural areas that supply much of the food. The only blue cities that could survive would be the coastal cities.

I just hope we wind up with the military.

I have never served, but I have GRAVE doubts that the military would want to go over to the libs.

If I was in the military, who would I want for Commander in Chief? Barney Frank or Duncan Hunter. Nancy Pelosi or Bob Jindal. Hillary Clinton or Sarah Palin.

HMMMM.

Decisions, decisions. Who would I go for?
