Rio de Janeiro (AP) - His meet-and-greet with the U.S. president was bumped to Saturday, and when the White House announced his official visit, they misspelled his name.
But when Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva becomes the first Latin American leader to sit down with President Barack Obama this weekend, he brings undisputed clout.
Silva runs the world's fifth-most-populous nation and ninth-largest economy and has close ties with leaders across the political spectrum. He's been asked to lobby Obama for free trade on behalf of conservatives in Colombia and for dropping the U.S. embargo against communist Cuba. Even Hugo Chavez has asked Silva to carry an olive branch to the new administration.

And 0 can in an oh-so-sophisticated manner, pronounce the words Pawk-ee-stawn and Tawlee-bahn.
I though 0 was going to rescue America’s tattered reputation around the world. I’ll bet he doesn’t dis Putin or Hu like he has those “tiny little countries.”
How did they misspell his name?
To be fair, I tend to misspell Obambi’s name as “That Farging Icehole” (/Roman Moroni), but it’s mostly typographical.

Obama’s grammar is poor and he misuses words. No wonder he never wrote any articles for the Law Review.
In terms of sophistication, he flunks there too. Did you see how he holds a wine glass? What a vulgarian. His wife may be worse. She shows up in cocktail dresses for official meetings and calls black-tie events formal. (White-tie is formal, black-tie is semi-formal.) Grrr...they get me irritated.
It may indicate stupid, illiterate ACORN workers are running the show.
Come on, it’s not like it was Hugo Chavez or whoeverthehell the leader of Hamas is.

Lula’s sharper than Obama. The Columbia FTA is critical. Cuba opening would kill the Castro regime as well.
This is Obama’s idea of a charm offensive. Light on the charm and heavy on the offensive.
At least Hamas, Castro and Chavez are happy.
Remember how they tore in to Bush I when he misspoke about a register scanner?

And then what? Another 4 years...that’s what. The GOP has yet to field or even hype up a single person who can run against the wind machine known as Obama in 2012.
