A member at ar15.com sent his congressman a teabag in the mail to protest their spending, and now his congressman's office is threatening him.
The member says, "I told her no malice intended and asked if it was illegal to mail a teabag. I told her it was a in protest in response to the votes of the Congressman. I also told her I thought maybe they would enjoy a good cup of tea this afternoon. She was not amused but acted dumb as to why I sent it. She also said a RECORD of this would be made."
Here is a link to the recording their office left on his voicemail:

The rulers and their servants aren’t amused by uppity Citizens.
Threatening Teabag would be an awesome name for a band.
lalalalaaaaa (grrrrrr)
No No No...this must change fast...THEY WORK FOR US...not the other way around. We must make this message known now!
If you need help FReeping this PUBLIC servant, say so...we can inundate the phone, fax and email lines.
Agreed. This guy needs a LOT more tea...
Barney Frank would have loved a teabag.
Their act did not end the tea tax, nor overthrow King George.
Yet, we celebrate it, why? Because it put their heads on the chopping block. It was an act IN DEFIANCE, not in respect, of the authorities.
The act, and its boldness and theatricality, galvanized others to boycott. And boycotts and other acts of DEFIANCE, lead to increased threats which aroused the indignation of the people and resulted in a revolution when the passion of the people was ignored with disdain.
I was also a bit leery of sending a Tea Bag, after all, what can that do? How would it make them care? It won't.
But what it DID do, in this case, was to stir this one congressman up and reveal himself as our Lord and Master (so he thinks) and spark our outrage.
If sending Tea Bags will make them threaten us and cause us to become outraged, then it is quite effective.
When they ignore and ridicule us and twist what we do into something that it is not, and threaten us with jail, and their newspapers boycott us, THEN WE GET ANGRY.
And perhaps then we shall march to Washington and toss the entire putrid lot of them in the Potomac.
But don't delude yourselves that you can challenge power and avoid its anger, its threats, its jails, its abuse. If you think you can, stay home and watch MSNBC and complain from the safety of your easy chair.
He wins the Putz Award.
Tea bag, tea party, America.
Anthrax, federal testing, fear-mongering, Amerika.
Some of us are tired of Political Correctness, Correctness is good enough.
We should send tea bags or pictures of tea bags on April 1st followed by a day off without pay on April 15th. If the purpose of the tea bags is a symbolic tax protest, then follow it up with a real one.
We need “Teabag Post cards!”
Well now people all of the country know about this, so how stupid was it ?
I think the Founding Fathers would disagree with your suggestion that passive agressive tactics would work rather than direct appeals through powerful symbols of liberty...

I’d make a copy of the recording, get it transcribed, and the next time Adler appears at a local townhall meeting, I’d stand up and publicly demand him to explain himself and the implied threat his staffer made on his behalf. But his arse on the hot seat and don’t let him wiggle out of it through his inevitable invocation of security concerns and terrorism (which you know is coming)...
ping!
You are the proud recipient of an early message from the DC Union Thugs’R Us commune. Your file is now ready for retrieval. Union Thugs have this solution to EVERY problem...A Grievance File. Welcome to the USA (Union Socialists of America). And here we thought they might leave this sleeping dog lie! That is Pelosi’s teabag you’re talking about, right?
Probably a dimwitted Congressman's aide.
A congresscritter's brain? it would be dead afterall! Only the brain dead would possibly act in the manner of most of our congresscritters!
Did she say it would go on your permanent record?
I hope not-that might affect his ability to get paroled from the Gulag. He might be a comrade who is incapable of being “re-educated”!/s
” a dimwitted Congressman’s aide.”
Is there any other kind?;)
We ought to all send them monopoly money instead of teabags.
Looks like a great postcard pic to me:
I meant to add, overlay a pic of a modern day teabag.. lol
>>The posting really didnt say who the member of Congress was.
I know that if I sent my member of Congress a tea bag and they called me, hinting that they were gonna turn it over to the authorities, Id have said GO RIGHT AHEAD!
It sounds like the congressional office is trying to practice a little intimidation...heavy emphasis on the word little.<<
The congressman should be identified.
But loose tea might be better given the implications of “tea bag” in this day and time.
Who is the congressman? What we all should do is send them a tea bag. Imagine if they received thousands of them....
“I guess the moral of this story is we are there to serve the members of congress - or be reported to the authorities”
Used to be this country had a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
We now have a people of the government, by the government and for the government.
I liked the old way much better.
“You know it is tea and I know it is tea but since 9-11, it is dumb to send federal offices anything except written correspondence. They will have to send out the tea bag to be tested since all the anthrax scares because it is coming into the office with flakes not in solid form.
There are a lot of sick people out there that would love to sneak something through their mail system.
If I was in the office, I would have reacted the same way. Think about what could be hidden in a tea bag and all of you might want to reconsider sending an actual tea bag. People need to use some common sense.”
You are correct. I think this is why someone suggested sending an unopened box of tea bags.
That would work — box of unopened tea.
What are they going to do when loads of these teabags show up right before Tax Day?
Agreed. With the post-911 sensity in mind, sending an actual tea bag might get lost in translation. A picture of a tea bag works just as well.
“...You know it is tea and I know it is tea but since 9-11, it is dumb to send federal offices anything except written correspondence....”
That’s cool. So instead of sending the real deal, why not flood teir faxes and mail boxes with images of tea in every form. They CAN’T threaten you with trying to poison a public official. Meanwhile your point will be made. They can always empty their e-mails and get rid of the faxes. Just keep sending. Make them work for a change.
I think a picture would work also.
We need the name so we can be “proactive” in mailing the witch’s office another 1000 or so. Address too please.
Check three posts up. :)
It would be nice to know which member of congress this was because I think 90,000 teabags in the mail over the next few days wold be....instructive
You have been warned, you are now on the democrat party official Enemies List which will surely be forwarded to Der Fuehrer’s Brownshirts for further action.
