Bracing for Bailout Backlash

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is increasingly concerned about a populist backlash against banks and Wall Street, worried that anger at financial institutions could also end up being directed at Congress and the White House and could complicate President Obama’s agenda.

The administration’s sharp rebuke of the American International Group on Sunday for handing out $165 million in executive bonuses — Lawrence H. Summers, director of the president’s National Economic Council, described it as “outrageous” on “This Week” on ABC — marks the latest effort by the White House to distance itself from abuses that could feed potentially disruptive public anger.

ABC could change the name of their show to “This Wreak” when they interview administration officials.

President Obama’s agenda.

That's ALL they worry about.

"6. the possibility of retaliation against members of Congress for the collapses,"

From...

Sent: Friday, March 14, 2008 4:20 PM Subject: CLOSED Congress Session Last Night: Only 4th Time In 176 Years !

SPECIAL "CLOSED SESSION" OF U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DISCUSSED A LOT MORE THAN THE PENDING SECURITY SURVEILLANCE PROVISIONS!

This was only the fourth time in 176 years that Congress has closed its doors to the public. What was it that they were discussing that they do NOT want us to know about?

Word has begun leaking from last nights special, closed-door session of the United States House of Representatives.

Not only did members discuss new surveillance provisions as was the publicly stated reason for the closed door session, they also discussed:

1. the imminent collapse of the U.S. economy to occur by September 2008,

2. the imminent collapse of US federal government finances by February 2009,

3. the possibility of Civil War inside the USA as a result of the collapse,

4. advance round-ups of "insurgent U.S. citizens" likely to move against the government,

5. the detention of those rounded-up at "REX 84" camps constructed throughout the USA,

6. the possibility of retaliation against members of Congress for the collapses,

7. the location of "safe facilities" for members of Congress and their families to reside during expected massive civil unrest,

8. the necessary and unavoidable merger of the United States with Canada (for its natural resources) and with Mexico (for its cheap labor pool),

9. the issuance of a new currency - THE AMERO - for all three nations as the proposed solution to the coming economic armageddon.

For the last two years, Americans were clearly indicating that they believe that one of the biggest obstacles to progress on America’s toughest challenges — notably health care and energy independence — was the influence of special interests and corporate interests on the agenda in Washington

Hmmmm. I presume this is a further push for socialized medicine and carbon credits?

"The Obama administration is increasingly concerned about a populist backlash"

What we NEED is a populist backlash, and from the right. I hope they get one.

I'm generally not a populist kind of guy, but sometimes it's necessary.

I can’t help but wonder what the Founders would say (no, **DO**) in response should any of these points come to pass.

“backlash against banks and Wall Street”-No it’s not going to come against the banks (your average hometown) nor wall-street: The American people aren’t stupid and they know who’s responsible it is the Federal Government: The Obama Adminstration, and Congress.

The only question I have at this point is how it will happen: left vs right, racial lines, haves vs have-nots, or everybody against the government.

The White House is worried that the backlash “could”, what the hell, not “could” WH Idiots, “is” effecting the White House for good reason —— Zero is allowing it to happen.

In other words, HIDING LIKE RATS. I would argue that it is the patriotic duty of all Americans to demand and ensure that those we elected to serve ***US*** never get away with it.

So remind me again.

Is rebuke after harsh words or sternly worded letter to the editor?
