she is a young woman...to be publicly ridiculed...well, I give her the right to have her feelings hurt.....it’s what she does after this that matters. She need to toughen up if she is staying in the political realm, making Laura correct, and lose some weight to keep herself healthy - both physically and emotionally.

There is nothing derogatory about Laura's comment. Nothing wrong with being plus-size.

I agree that there is nothing wrong with being plus size (unless it affects one's health). However, to describe someone as "too plus-sized" to be a cast member of a hip TV show where everyone is young and very attractive is most certainly an insult IMO.

It doesn't matter to me that Meghan "started it." I would hope that Laura would have the class not to respond in this way.

I am so tired of that predictable response. She wasn't fighting fire with fire. If Meghan McCain had mocked Ingraham's appearance and Ingraham responded in kind, then she would be fighting fire with fire. She didn't do that. She stooped beneath McCain's level, offering personal attacks when McCain had not. As for Meghan McCain, I disagree with her criticism of the conservative movement and the fact that she chose to appear on a program that treated her father poorly. Does that justify attacking her personally? No. And Ingraham just undermines conservatives when she does so. And don't sit there and pretend you're being brave by being willing to "take on the left in the very mud they sling" as if criticism of conservatism is the equivalent of personal attacks.

Pretend being brave? Honey, you surely don't know me, do you? Are you really that provincial to believe the left wasn't calling McCain fat (and other things) before this? You clearly don't get it so there's no bother in trying to explain it AGAIN.

If McCain is going to go on liberal shows and trash conservatives, then she better be ready for whatever comes her way. She brought it on herself, plain and simple. I like how on The View she pretended not to even know Laura Ingraham’s name. That shows me right there she’s not any kind of conservative , at least not one that keeps on things like she claims. I betcha there is no way in heck she would go on Ingraham’s show should she get an invite. Too afraid to debate someone that will fire back. She would rather go lefty programs and think her “fat ass” is getting kissed when in fact they are just using her.
