My theory is that Obama is actually a person who thrives on competition, and then when he beats his opponent, quickly bores of the victory and moves on to the next competitive challenge. Everyday mundane details of the Presidency are not of interest to him.

You have it exactly right, in my opinion. I've posted much the same thing several times here on FR, only in my own words. I've put it this way: Obama is someone who enjoys getting a job more than he does actually doing a job. His whole resume speaks to this trait in him.

The man is a narcissist.

A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:[1]

1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance
2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
3. believes that he or she is “special” and unique
4. requires excessive admiration
5. has a sense of entitlement
6. is interpersonally exploitative
7. lacks empathy
8. is often envious of others or believes others are envious of him or her
9. shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

Just like a very immature teenager or man in his 20s who conquers and beds as many woman as he can. The thrill is in the conquest, not in the adult responsibilities of marriage, child-rearing and life-long commitment. And which part of our populace has the very worst problems with marriage, commitment and fatherhood? I'm sorry to say it, but black men. Maybe we are seeing the symptoms of what he soaked up after he became black.
