One word -- wow !
"If I'm corrupt, it's because I take care of my district," Mr. Murtha said. "My job as a member of Congress is to make sure that we take care of what we see is necessary.

John Hoffa Murtha.
There’s a doubt?
bad choice of words there. Sounds like Nixon saying I’m not a crook
Excuse me for my ignorance Mr. Murtha, but you sir swore an Oath to uphold and Defend the Constitution of these United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Too bad you’re an arrogant piece of trash with no respect for the ideals of this country.
Do I have to post a photo to say............................Guilty!
And the voters in his district love it. They’ll even re-elect the sh**head next election like they just did this past November.
It’s the old, “But he’s OUR SOB!”
This approach can actually be very effective for politicians (see Marion Barry).
lol...congress just doesn’t have a grasp of reality anymore...
I guess he is saying the John McCain doesn’t take care of his district...lol.
Most ethical Congress ever...
He went down because he lied when he said he knew nothing about a break in at the DNC National HQ.
Wrong Mr. Murtha. Here is you job. You swear to it ever two years.
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
But I guess for crooks, an oath means nothing.
Murtha should be in prison getting traded for a candy bar and a pack of cigarettes.
He ain’t worth the pack o’ smokes.
No, it's because you're evil, Johnnie.
He swore that oath many times, should be charged, tried and convicted on each and every one of them
Oaths mean nothing to his kind.
“Everybody is talking these days,” he begins, “about Tammany men growing rich on graft, but nobody thinks of drawing the distinction between honest graft and dishonest graft. There’s all the difference in the world between the two. Yes. many of our men have grown rich in politics. I have myself. I’ve made a big fortune out of the game, and I’m getting richer every day, but I’ve not gone in for dishonest graft — blackmailing gamblers, saloon-keepers, disorderly people, etc. — and neither has any of the men who have made big fortunes in politics.
“There’s an honest graft, and I’m an example of how it works. I might sum up the whole thing by saying: ‘I seen my opportunities and took ‘em.’
“Jest let me explain by examples. My party’s in power in the city, and it’s going to undertake a lot of public improvements. Well, I’m tipped off, say, that they’re going to lay out of a new park at a certain place.
I see my opportunity and I take it. I go to hat place and buy up all the land I can in the neighborhood. Then the board of this or that makes its plan public, and there is a rush to get my land, which nobody cared particular for before.
“Ain’t it perfectly honest to charge a good price and make a profit on my investment and foresight? Of course, it is. Well, that’s honest graft.”
An Honest Democrat me thinks
He admits he is corrupt
He admits that he thinks he is above the law
He admits that “All Democrats and some Republicans” do the same thing
As with all other conniving devious arrogant blood sucking vampire Democrats he thinks it is totally OK because he was just grabbing his share of the spoils that would have been sucked out of the system anyway.
