I felt physically sick viewing this picture, but the sickness in my heart was much, much worse.
I can not help but think of Joshua Chamberlain’s speech for the movie ‘Gettysburg’:

I agree. Like the Bush picture holding hands, this picture is also probably being misinterpreted. As much as I detest his policies, I need more confirmation than this picture that he intended to bow.

I don’t like this guy any more than the rest of you, but he is not bowing. The two Saudis are smiling, the guy to the right is also looking down, as is Sarkozy. He has dropped something or stumbled. Besides if he is bowing it is one piss poor bow. It is halfway between kneeling and bowing. If you are going to bow you keep your legs straight and bend at the waist. If you are kneeling you keep your back straight and go all the way down on one knee.

Frankly my dear, I don’t give a darn whether it’s a bow or not. It looks like one and I say we exploit it to the hilt. Can he prove it wasn’t a bow? We need to be ready to play hardball against this abomination.
