The “friends” have not even been substantiated as having known him. They just showed up at the scene and sought out cameras. Please don’t hang validation on these two...they seemed really “odd” in their demeanor on local coverage.

(He must have been working as a janitor at IBM)

Not necessarily. Just because his English skill were poor, that could just mean his pronunciation, doesn't indicate his other skills were also poor.

I had a coworker who felt his English skills were holding him back, although he'd been speaking English since grade school and I did not agree, he has a PhD in Physics, from a US university. He had an accent alright, but it did not inhibit understanding, any more than a New Joisey accent does.

Interestingly, we have a step niece who is a native Russian speaker, although since she came here when she was 5, at 16 she has no accent that I can hear. But she says that listening to my son-in-law and his parents talking makes her feel like she's in an episode of "The Sopranos&quo;, they are from New Jersey, right across from New York City

all it’ll take is another Charles Moose to appear.....

We have an equally big boob at a much higher level. Attorney General Eric Holder.

So was the 3x cop killer dishonorably discharged or failed boot camp, reports are confusing..

I was about to post that question myself. A dishonorabel from boot camp would highly unusual. Usually just "for the good of the servcie". Sometimes a medical. My brother in law, the one with the Russian speaking step daughter, had his knee blow out during AF basic, he got a medical, and is not considered a veteran.

Just got home from work - we had the TV's on in the patients' rooms watching this unfold when we had a chance.

My grandmother and grandfather used to live up around the corner on Stanton Avenue from this event and my cousins used to live on that street where the shooting is - Fairfield. They lived near the dead end at the bottom of the hill.

When I signed on (Comcast customer) the news service reported that this guy was upset he lost his job at a glass factory and was scared Obama was going to take away his rights, especially gun rights.

All I can say is "thank you, ya dumb jerk for giving the anti-gun crowd more ammunition - no pun intended - for their cause."

Prayers raised for the slain police officers and their families.

“I am definitely not a liberal,”

No, then why are you making liberal arguments? Political correctness is a basic Marxist tool. Always looking for something to be offended by and speaking for the victim class.

As for “ette” it is the diminutive definition which is being used here but it can also be used to feminize male nouns. You know like reporter. I’ll leave it to you to find a dictionary for the rest of your word lesson.

I was repeating what the reporterette said. I haven’t had the TV on in awhile. I hope they are correcting some of what they reported earlier (the ex-marine part).

If standing for equality is a liberal argument, then you have d*mned yourself. I want to be on the side of equality for all - I’m American, through and through.

It seems very clear to me you weren’t able to understand what I was saying. Of course “ette” is diminutive, we are agreeing. I was asking you to consider why. You chose to resort to name-calling, instead.

Does standing up to BO for demeaning what America stands for make all of us a “victim class”? No. Then why does it make women a victim class to stand up for their rights? If standing up for someone’s rights, and standing against gross mischaracterizations, is “political correctness” to you, that’s sad to me.

Many people may use PC-ness as you suggest, but many people also diminish things as *being* PC to protect the status quo and any inequality that may exist to their favor.

I heard about this earlier this morning, but not able to get to a computer until now.

This is a sad day in Pittsburgh. Prayers for the slain officers and their families.

Actually, it’s not quite that simple. Suppose all we’ve heard about the gunman is true. Suppose his rampage was caused at least in part by his fear of the dismantling of the Second Amendment under Obama.

Chairman Obama (Captain Teleprompter and the Soldiers of Surrender) are going to have a tough argument. “This guy went on a rampage because he feared we would ban guns. Therefore, we will ban guns.” No matter what argument you make, that can’t work. Even pursuing gun legislation based on this is going to make this guy into a hero.

Do you really this gunman was mad about Obama gun ban? This is the media trying to cover up something else!

Did the police have a warrant to enter the house?

Nothing is going to make this guy into a hero. He was a nutcase, and if anybody here thinks he was a hero, they should have the b***s to go and tell this to the police widows whose husbands were answering a domestic violence call when he shot them.

Anybody who thinks he was a hero is disgusting.

I’m not defending the actions of this shooter. But, lets keep in mind we still don’t know the full details of this. Did the police have a warrant to enter the home? Who made the “domestic disturbance call”? Could he have been unfairly targeted for having weapons in his house? I have a true story, but the identities will remain anonymous. I have a fellow officer in my BN whose brother was just shot by the Bakersfield California Police. His brother was on his way over to his friends house (who was a female and they had been friends since high school) saying her boyfriend was beating her and she was scared. She also called the police. My friends brother arrived at the scene and as he was approaching the house, the police asked him to turn around, and as he turned around they shot him numerous times. Coincidentally, the police have not been found guilty in shooting of an un armed person. Lets not forget Ruby Ridge. Sometimes the law gets a little too pushy and they do not know their limits. I’m not going to rush to judge this guy until I know all of the facts.

The implications here are clear: gun owners, and those who believe in the right to keep and bear arms are maniacs and lunatics, all to be judged based on the actions that took place here.
