Looks like it may be time to open an off-shore files backup service (similar to Carbonite). There may be a market for that kind of data protection.
Judges are just rubber stamps when it comes to search warrants. They do not offer any protection.
They broke into my safe and took the backups of my backups,
Dude, you don’t have to store electronic data in a safe. It’s electronic. You can store it in Timbuktu. Or in a dozen other places.
My ex got mad one day and said I was harassing her. First thing I knew there were red and blue lights flashing all over the yard, and a swat team ready for action. She told them that I am a gun owner, that's all it takes to escalate matters to the limit.
The dummy never had a clue what she was starting, just wanted to aggravate me.

Well this blogger sure seems to have a lot of “progressive” bloggers doing a circle jerk around him.
Search “Jeff Pataky + Progressive”.
Sure seems like all kinds of laws were broken here and violations of that civil suit.
DING, DING, DING...we have a winner!
Can you say, “follow the money” boys and girls, see I knew you could.
Me thinks the cat is about to be let out of the bag, why do the Mexican drug gangs operate so freely there?
Based on this line alone, I think I'll sit back and wait for this thing to unfold before condemning either side.
No, we don't want cops raiding homes because bloggers say things they don't like. But no matter whether the guy stole the nameplates or made them himself, it shows he is at least a little bit off his rocker. There may be things going on that can't be revealed because of an ongoing investigation.
Doesn't matter. Last I heard, constitutional rights applied to everyone, not just people of your approved political persuasion.
OK
Prove his case right now, since you’ve already got the entire force tried and convicted. You can’t and you know you can’t because you’ve got nothing more than the word of some liberal blogger to go on.
Appparently that constitution you claim to care so much about doesn’t apply to police.
We’ve also only heard HIS side of the story. It is just possible that he isn’t telling the whole truth...
Sorry Bubba, but that tactic ain't gonna work, since I never said the PPD was proven guilty - though I certainly am not all that willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, especially not over a private citizen (who, if you will remember, the state is LEGALLY BOUND to give the benefit of the doubt). You apparently haven't figured out that constitutional protections don't apply to personal opinions. No police officer has the constitutional right not to be suspected of wrongdoing by me - at least they don't yet.
Police are out of control. I live in a very rural county and we have 90 deputies. We have lost population over the last 20 years. 20 years ago there was 40 deputies.
They come into the local restraunt I have lunch and they look like an elite paramilitary delta force how they are outfitted.
Another thing....while we're NOT talking about the constitional rights of the police here (since, you know, they're not the ones who've had their houses busted up and who are currently up on charges, DUH), we ARE talking about the constitutional rights of a private citizen here. Please try to at least keep your objections relevant to what's actually under discussion.
I guess you'll be a wholehearted supporter of the police state when it comes then, eh?
I’m going to go out on a limb here and suggest this guy is a liberal nut job. The entire article, from left-wing paparazzi rights supporter Carlos Miller’s web site, portrays only Pataky’s side of the story. I’m surprised this got through:
Pataky: “was eventually indicted for harassing his ex-wife.”
I know the old saw, you can indict a ham sandwich, but sometimes where there’s smoke there’s fire, and in this case I’m betting it’s Pataky and Miller whose pants are on fire.
It’s also somewhat amusing that if you scroll down on Miller’s web site the liberal responders, including one from DU, seem to agree with the responders to this FR post.
Dr. Freud, I presume. What's your professional opinion on ...say John Adams?
