ACORN to Crash Tax Day Tea Parties? ( Bring it! )
worldnetdaily.com ^ | April 08, 2009 | Chelsea Schilling

Posted on 04/09/2009 2:50:57 PM PDT by kellynla

With only one week left before citizens in 2,000 U.S. cities take to the streets in protest of government spending this Tax Day, will ACORN and the Huffington Post crash the party?

ACORN spokesman Charles Jackson told WND his group will be rallying on the same day.

"ACORN is going to be engaged in a series of rallies across the country on April 15 in support of the priorities outlined in President Obama's first budget – investments in education, health care, and getting Americans back to work," Jackson said.

He continued, "This is the first we've heard of these 'tea parties' and, frankly, a gripe-fest by a bunch of conservatives whose preferred economic policies got us in this mess in the first place is of no interest to us."

Some say it would be a very difficult task to take over a grass-roots movement so large. The American Family Association is reporting tea parties for 1,856 cities Wednesday, and WND has confirmed information for more than 450 protests.

Fox News' Neil Cavuto reports "over-caffeinated crashers" plan to show up at Tax Day tea parties. He said he has received reports of "very well-organized infiltrators trying to mix in and rain on this parade."

In addition to ACORN rallies for Tax Day, the Huffington Post has organized an online sign up for anyone to attend the events on behalf of its organization as "citizen journalists."

"The Huffington Post wants to have citizen journalists at as many of these events as possible," the website states. "If you think you'd be interested in attending one of the Tea Parties and reporting back to us with dispatches, photos, or video, click here to sign up. We'll contact you shortly with further instructions."

"The Huffington Post wants to have citizen journalists at as many of these events as possible,"

Hitler and the Nazis had their brown shirts. Obama and the demonrats have ACORN with help from the huffington post. All a part of God's plan, I suppose, but then so will be the eventual push back by Americans who will finally have had more than enough.

By ACORN making this known they hope a lot of conservatives will stay home. Also if they show up in large numbers in one or two cities they will grab the media spotlight with a big assist from the MSN.

From post #53 of the earlier link I posted:

“THANK YOU THINKPROGRESS FOR BRINGING THIS TO MY ATTENTION!

I will be attending in Kansas City to counter-protest these anti-Obama Republicans!

It’s going to be like a hatemongering Sarah Palin rally, as one commentator above me noted, “This comedy gold must be experienced live!””

I will be at the the KC rally and I say - bring it on - if these socialists want a confrontation great, because there is nothing I would like more than to meet these folks mano e mamo. Besides it would result in better press coverage.

You’re right; they ARE nuts! Sample:

honeygreen Says:

It has become very clear that the Republicans are truly the terrorists this nation cannot afford to let live. All and any self-serving, selfish, arrogant, ignorant, unpatriotic immature idiots who voted for and still are supporting the Bush doctrine must be eliminated by all means possible. Again, these traitors are the poisons and the thorn to democracy and liberty of this nation. They are like the deadly zombies that are destroying our civilization. They, therefore, must be destroyed before they finish us off.

Ressurecting BUMP- this one is worthy of additional attention, though similar to others previously posted.

The difference between us and them - is they have to pay their "activists". They'll probably hire some union thugs - not enough people on the ACORN payroll...

March 14, 2007 - Association of Community Organization
ACORN Members Lobby for Strong Predatory Lending Law

Protest at MBA Called for Foreclosure Moratorium on Predatory Loans

ACORN wants any such legislation to:

— Be at least as strong as the state laws ACORN has passed — Prohibit lenders from giving customers a worse loan than they qualify for — Stop lenders from stripping equity through points, fees and prepayment penalties — Require lenders to verify the borrowers ability to repay the loan - both from the very beginning as well as after the interest rate increases — Impose a “duty of good faith and fair dealing” on lenders and brokers to have to conduct their business honestly and carefully and not harm the customer. — Provide increased funding to support non-profit foreclosure prevention counseling programs
Yesterday, several hundred ACORN members from across the country marched on the Mortgage Bankers Association to demand a one-year moratorium on types of loans that the group considers predatory. ACORN is also demanding that lenders change their predatory practices that have resulted in a record number of foreclosures.

As foreclosures become a national crisis, ACORN is calling for a foreclosure moratorium on all subprime loans that were recklessly underwritten with inadequate consideration of the borrower`s ability to repay. This includes:

— adjustable rate loans that used the initial rate to qualify the borrower — so-called stated income loans that had no income verification — loans that were made without escrows for taxes and insurance
ACORN is also calling on lenders to change their practices regarding stated income and adjustable rate loans and follow the steps taken by Freddie Mac and recommended by the federal regulators, in order to reduce the number of future loans resulting in foreclosure.
