The "Country" of TEXAS...(Check it Out)

Posted on 04/15/2009 4:54:36 PM PDT by Dallas

THE COUNTRY of TEXAS

So what does Texas have to do to survive as a Republic?

1. NASA is just south of Houston, Texas. We will control the space industry.

2. We refine over 85% of the gasoline in the United States .

3. Defense Industry--we have over 65% of it. The term "Don't mess with Texas ," will take on a whole new meaning.

4. Oil - we can supply all the oil that the Republic of Texas will need for the next 300 years. What will the other states do? Gee, we don't know. Why not ask Obama?

5. Natural Gas - again we have all we need and it's too bad about those Northern States. John Kerry and Al Gore will have to figure out a way to keep them warm....

6. Computer Industry - we lead the nation in producing compute chips and communications equipment -small companies like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola, Intel, AMD, Atmel, Applied Materials, Ball Miconductor, Dallas Semiconductor, Nortel, Alcatel, etc, etc. The list goes on and on.

7. Medical Care - We have the research centers for cancer research, the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world, as well as other large health centers. The Houston Medical Center alone employees over 65,000 people.

8. We have enough colleges to keep us getting smarter: University of Texas , Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Texas Christian, Rice, SMU, University of Dallas , University of Houston , Baylor, UNT (University of North Texas), Texas Women's University, etc. Ivy grows better in the South anyway.

9. We have an intelligent and energetic work force, and it isn't restricted by a bunch of unions. Here in Texas, it's a Right to Work State and, therefore, it's every man and woman for themselves. We just go out and get the job done. And if we don't like the way one company operates, we get a job somewhere else.

10. We have essential control of the paper, plastics, and insurance industries, etc.

11. In case of a foreign invasion, we have the Texas National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard, and several military bases. We don't have an Army, but since everybody down here has at least six rifles and a pile of ammo, we can raise an Army in 24 hours if we need one. If the situation really gets bad, we can always call the Department of Public Safety and ask them to send over the Texas Rangers.

12. We are totally self-sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs, and several types of grain, fruit and vegetables, and let's not forget seafood from the Gulf. Also, everybody down here knows how to cook them so that they taste good. Don't need any food.

13. Three of the ten largest cities in the United States , and twenty-three of the 100 largest cities in the United States , are located in Texas . And Texas also has more land than California , New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maryland , Rhode Island and Vermont combined.

14. Trade: Three of the ten largest ports in the United States are located in Texas .

15. We also manufacture cars down here, but we don't need to. You see, nothing rusts in Texas , so our vehicles stay beautiful and run well for decades, well most of the time.

This just names a few of the items that will keep the Republic of Texas in good shape. There isn't a thing out there that we need and don't have.

Now to the rest of the United States under President Obama:

Since you won't have the refineries to get gas for your cars, only President Obama will be able to drive around in his big 9 mpg SUV. The rest of the United States will have to walk or ride bikes.

You won't have any TV as the Space Center in Houston will cut off satellite communications.

You won't have any natural gas to heat your homes, but since Mr. Obama has predicted global warming, you will not need the gas as long as you survive the 2000 years it will take to get enough heat from Global Warming.

Signed, The People of Texas

P.S. This is not a threatening letter - just a note to give you something to think about and maybe a chuckle!

SLEEP WELL TONIGHT "THE EYES OF TEXAS ARE UPON YOU!!"

He apparently also missed Kelo v. New London. It is now legal for the government to seize your property and give it to someone else without due process or proper compensation.

Only if Sheriff Joe has figured out that “Constitutionalists” are not the ones he, the FBI, & the JTTF shouldn’t be worried about... (Sorry, but as much good as “Sheriff Joe” has done regarding illegals, he won’t make me forget about that little “brochure” he handed out a decade ago...)

Yes, so what?

How is that an American principle? It is a law passed by Congress and one that can be repealed.

I repeat: There isn’t a single principle that has been discarded.

Fight for America, or quit and become the flip side of Code Pink or ANSWER.

Read the OUT OF THE ASHES series of books by William W. Johnstone to see how he did that. He called it the Tri-States or the SUSA. Tri-States were 3 western states and the SUSA were the southern states. It was based on a common sense type of government which the liberals could not understand.

It is a law passed by Congress and one that can be repealed.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Being familiar with McCain-Feingold would it be your opinion that it in no way abridges freedom of speech? I don't see any of our rulers moving to repeal this beauty, do you?

The only thing you are missing is commercial aviation and software.

Since we've got some of the best military aviation in the world, commercial represents an opportunity. We also make helicopters.

And yes, we've got our fair share of software. If necessary, I have no doubt we could do better than Apple and Microsoft.

I’ve been paying on my mortgage for 13 years now. In ‘96 my modest ‘single-family clapboard dwelling’ cost $86,900.

We didn’t buy a bigger house because we knew we would always be able to make the payment on this one. Our little piece of the American Dream.

Now, why in the world should I allow the government to take my tax money and give it away to someone who bought a house 3 times bigger on an income less than mine, simply because that dummy assumed he could sell his house later at a higher price, found out he can’t, and is now bankrupt? Why? Why should anyone pay for someone else’s stupid mistakes? This is supposed to be America. First we bail out the banks, then the car companies, then the free-loaders who can’t make their mortage payments.

No. No I won’t. It’s not moral. It’s a deal-breaker. Go Texas!!

Texans have spilled a lot of blood for The United States. We are a very proud state and we love to brag about her and pick fights with everyone else, but more than anything, we love our country first. The American flag hangs high in Texas, no matter how braggadocios about our own plot of land we get. No true Texan would ever turn their backs to the United States.

They all migrate to Austin. Periodically, we simply need to force migration from Austin to Boston and the problem is solved.

American Airlines and Southwest Airlines are both based in Dallas. Continental is in Houston. Lockheed Martin builds Fighter jets and Bell builds helicopters in Fort Worth.

Software? EDS, Texas Instruments, Perot Systems, Dell - with so many technology giants, surely somebody out there in Texas tinkers with software. No pure software companies of any size pop into my head at present.

Not that I am advocating independence, but there are few states so well diversified that it could easily transition to its own nation.

There are 58 of the Fortune 500 (113 Fortune 1000) companies based in Texas. Including such notables as ExxonMobil, Kimberly Clark, and AT&T not mentioned yet. New York is next with 55 and then California with 52.

As taxes go up in New York, California and other blue states, I expect to see more major corporate relocations to Texas. That number has grown steadily over the years. I guess they got tired of paying their "fair share" ;->

The only flies in the ointment are the border and the illegals. Youse guys can figure a way to correct that, I am sure.

Once we secede, illegals won't come from south of the border (our sucession will automatically make Arizona and California even more lucrative, reducing our attraction). We're going to have a heck of a time enforcing the north, east, and west borders. We gotta keep figure out how to keep people from swimming the Red River and Sabine.

Of course not.
There have been three cases so far before the Supreme Court. The third, Citizen’s United v. F.E.C. was heard for oral arguments 03/24/2009. You can read the transcripts at the Supreme Court web site. Ted Olson argued for the petitioner.

I do believe in the process and the rule of law. I don’t believe in pouting, stealing, and treason.

Whether you agree with me or not doesn’t concern me at all.

I was the one who took the risk on my house, not the government, so yes-—it’s all about me and my greed. I will not pay for someone else’s greed. That’s their look-out. So when companies fail they get absorbed by their competitors, or used to, before the government decided to delay the inevitable by voting on a bill that was so important to pass it didn’t have time to be read by anyone before getting railroaded thru Congress. That’s a deal-breaker. In a representational Republic we are supposed to be represented. Not a single elected congress-critter read the TARP bill before voting on it. It was too important to the country—total economic failue swung in the balance—to delay the vote for proper debate. Yet it took Obama 5 days more to get around to signing it.

I’m not the opposite extreme to Code Pink or Answr. I go to work every day and pay my bills. I expect responsible government. When we don’t have responsible government, or even the hope for it in the near future, it’s time to take action. Taking action includes attending Tea Parties and replying to interesting posts. It also includes preparing for the day when I may need to protect my home and hearth against free-loaders and socialist agents of the government. I’m not paying someone else’s mortage. Never.
Go Texas!!

I don't like TARP.
I don't agree with the bail outs.
I don't like Socialism.
I don't agree with anything the Obama Administration is trying to do.

and....
I like America. I believe in fighting for my country. I don't have much consideration for those that would betray it, tear it apart, or abandon it; whether they come from the right or left.
When it becomes ‘all about you’ then you don't really rate the help of your neighbor, do you? In a free society we are free because we remember our responsibilities as well as our rights.

I know my rights. But I also know my responsibilities. I won't shirk them either.
