To faithful Catholics it means everything. To those who pay lip service to the faith, it means absolutely nothing and they will not be pleased at the outcome of their particular judgments. Quite a bit of chaff amongst the wheat.
Are they going to take the crosses and IHS symbols down again?
Or has the Law Center already been wiped clean of any Catholic symbols
that might cause uneasiness for the VP or his staff?
“Another ‘in your face’ act of defiance.”
Yes, this was very deliberate to the point of extremism.
Fortunately for the ex-Catholic Jesuits who run the formerly Catholic Georgetown, the Archdiocese of Washington has been vacant for years:
First, Uncle Teddy “See You At the Jersey Shore” McCarrick,
Now Cardinal Wright’s former boy-wonder paper pusher Donnie Wuerl, whose episcopal motto is: “Trite, Bright and Inoffensive.”
God knows what would happen to old Georgetown if instead of the last two card-carrying Democrats, a real, orthodox Catholic Archbishop were ever appointed!
By the way, haven’t been to Georgetown’s Holy Trinity parish in years. Are they still doing the puppet shows or do they have Mass there once in a while? Oh, and the late Congressman (Father) Drinan, a pro-choice politician like Biden who bequeathed his seat (what pun possibilities!) to Barney “The Banking Queen” Frank celebrating the Democrat Victory Mass for that conservative Catholic girl from San Francisco, Madame Pelosi, and her friends doesn’t count!
42 out of how many bishops?
All due respect to the Holy Father, how long to you have to take notes before you figure out that you’ve got a collection of spineless careerists more concerned with the designs for their coats-of-arms and whether their French cuffs have enough starch?
Of all people, Andrew Greeley got it right years ago: “With few exceptions, the hierarchy in the United States ranges from the mediocre to the pyschopathic.”
Let’s hope that sometime before the 2012 election the Pope puts down the notepad and picks up the telephone - and maybe an axe.
