One of my friends had a brother who died that way, and I know of one other person, a professor, who “accidently” hung himself—auto-erotic acts.

Police investigating the apparent suicide of Freddie Mac (FRE) acting chief financial officer David Kellermann
confirmed the presence of a gun and a gunshot wound, AHN Media reported Wednesday on its Web site. Kellermann was found dead at his home early in the morning, according to Fairfax County police.
Police spokesman Lucy Caldwell told AHN that other people were present at the home at the time of Kellermann's death, in Reston, Va., and that
there was a gun and a gunshot wound.
Kellermann's wife told local police he committed suicide, Washington, D.C., television station WUSA reported, citing county sheriff's deputies.
I don’t know. This was about 6 years ago that I met them, so the boy would be in high school now and the girl in middle school. They were going to expensive private schools, so they’re probably okay — not that some kids don’t get messed up in those places, but few get seriously messed up since the standards for academic performance and in-school behavior are quite high. The little girl would have been too young to remember her father or remember the traumatic time surrounding his death. I wouldn’t be surprised if the boy develops some psychological problems, because he was plenty old enough to remember finding his daddy with his brains blown out, but he’s likely to get good professional help if he needs it, and have a pretty solid social support system. But I got the creepy feeling that the mother wasn’t pretty okay about the whole thing, content that she’d ended up with plenty of money and two healthy kids. Just knowing that she was close pals with my brother’s ex-wife tells me she hadn’t learned the basic lesson that the money isn’t worth it.
He just manned-up and took Grassley’s suggestion, by doing the honorable thing for America.
