Afraid the origin of this strain may be Mexico, my man. Course we don’t do damn near enough to stop the *speaders* from coming in.

Why not just go ahead and close all the schools for a week or so? We would save money and the kids would like an extended spring break. It would reduce spreading any illnesses right now.

“Perry asking CDC for over 37,000 courses of Tamaflu from Strategic National Stockpile. “

That’s a pathetically small number of doses. Will cover about 1 small burb of Dallas.

That is true. I was just joking about Texas. It is a great state but I really wish they would stop the “quit America” talk.

I don’t know CindyDawg. It seems like the flu and other crud is spread faster when the kids are out during the holidays.

Maybe we should lock them in the schools until this is over? (o:

After reading this article, I remembered an article I read yesterday on the BBC website, where people left comments. One comment was from a doctor in Mexico City, who said the deaths were close to 200, not 20 or 60.

Tamiflu is very very expensive. Who is going to pay for it? Oh, I know! Let’s raise the tobacco tax again!

I have not read in any article that the anti-viral was in fact Tamiflu. Have you read this?

My thought, how do they know that this particular anti-viral will work on this supposedly “mutated pig, bird, human strain”?

From the link in post #20

“The virus is an influenza A virus, carrying the designation H1N1. It contains DNA from avian, swine and human viruses, including elements from European and Asian swine viruses, said the CDC.”

IMO, this wasn’t a *natural* occurence.

Officials reported 20 U.S. cases of swine flu in five states so far,

Multiply that by ten, maybe a hundred thousand, in every state, then we can talk. Is there is a more easily transmissible disease than influenza? I don't think so. I've been completely smacked down for almost a week now, with symptoms that match to a 'T' those described for this flu. Still feel like I've been run over by a cement truck. Must have caught it locally, but I'm not in one of the states mentioned by the CDC. This is the most mobile society on earth, tracking something like this only seems possible after the damage, if any, is done.

PAPER: Americans told to wear masks...

Doctors in America are advising worried patients to buy painters’ masks as a precaution against the global outbreak of swine flu that appears to have spread from Mexico to the United States, New Zealand and possibly Europe.

As of today, the US was still allowing people to cross the border from Mexico – where it is thought the swine flu emerged last week

– although customs officials at the San Ysidro and Otay Mesa border crossings were given protective masks. It is thought that eight people in US border towns have gone down with swine flu, and tonight Mayor Michael Bloomberg said that a further eight cases have been confirmed among students in New York.

Heh---right wingers sneaking in from Canada----good one. BTW, she also revised the Extremism list.

Napolitano revises Extemism list, says Hugh Hefner's causing global silicone shortage. "I'm no boob," Hef asserts.

DHS Secy Janet (Butch) Napolitano said: "I am revising the Extremism Threat list and am adding Hugh Hefner to the list. At the G-8 summit, Pres Obama was appraised of global concerns that the world is running out of silicone. Hugh Hefner was named as the chief cause. Global leaders say the shortage is due to boobs, and blamed the US. "

The Smiling Messiah speaks: "I applaud Secy Napolitano for defending the world against boobs. I told world leaders it's America's fault---Hefner is causing the silicone shortage and is the source of America's chronic obsession with boobs. I've asked VP Viden to investigate the size and scope of boob jobs, and to report his (cough) findings to me."

=========================================

Hugh Hefner is accused of personally causing a silicone shortage and aiding and abetting America's chronic obsession with big boobs. Hefner denies the charge. Says he's not a boob.

"I'm no boob. The government is coming after me just because I'm financially hung and b/c I can't get it up without a forklift and duct tape. My TV show was cancelled, I'm selling the mansion and all my sex toys and orgy equipment. My Bunny Clubs closed, even my private jet is gone. Everything went downhill after Boobie, er, I mean Barbie, left me. "

“PAPER: Americans told to wear masks...”

This is getting a little absurd.

Why aren't we told to do this EVERY flu season? (along with no touching, kissing’ hugging, etc..)

For God's sake an AVERAGE of 36,000 die from the *flu* every year.

Purely political, INDEED!

Sounds like that book, “State of Fear”. I believe there was another written quite a few years back describing how the government controls the citizens behavior by keeping them in a constant state of fear.

Cold war
Korea/Vietnam
Iraq WMD’s
Korea nukes
Aids scare
Suitcase nuke scare
Herpes scare
Terror attacks
Iran nukes
Bio Weapons
EMP attack
Dirty bomb
Al Queda nuke navy
Pirates
Anthrax
Smallpox
Global financial meltdown
Flu pandemic

Every time a crisis subsides, it always seems like another just magically POPS up.

Just sayin?
