I did not know that Hershey outsourced the production of chocolate to Mexico.

Going to cancel our summer trip to Hershey Park and find another place to go. And no more 'kisses'.

I found out about after I bought a bag of “Special Dark” chocolate baking chips.
[the only “candy” I ever eat]

I’ve bought them for years with no problems but the last bag I bought made me violently ill.

I couldn’t figure out why.

Somebody here on FR started a thread on the Hershey Mexico move and sure enough, the bag I’d just gotten was produced *after* the Mexico plant move.

God only knows what was in it but I -never- bought another Hershey product again.

Writing to their PA corporate headquarters got me nothing.
No apology, no explanation, no reply.

Here’s the “new museum” in Mexico City.

“The Great American Chocolate Bar”.
Yeah.
Central America.
