We need to video tape the next tea parties and send copies of all that video to every media outlet locally that we can think of. We need to protest those outlets that don’t report on our movement. We need to capture wonderful video like this and Rose Strong - another wonderful African American spokesperson that spoke in Seattle - and others like that that give the BIG LIE to the bigots in the media that are pigeon holing this movement as bigoted. The media and deal leader bigots that are pigeon holing us are Orwell’s 1984 AT WORK right now. We must fight them with all that’s in uw.
I hate to tell you this, but I don’t think he is a black man as stated above:
Sounds like a great guy....even if he isn’t black! LOL!
Yes, Dr. May gave a great speech at our Lubbock Tea Party. However, not only is he white, he is a regular blogger on our local newspaper’s website (as “Mr. Conservative”), and his contributions to our Tea Party certainly were reported by the paper and by TV stations. This speech does appear to be Dr. May’s words. The black gentleman who spoke at our Tea Party is Dr. Robert L. McKenzie, who is a minister as well as the executive director of the Lubbock Boys’ and Girls’ Club. His speech was excellent as well. Our Sheriff David Guiterrez, also a good speaker, gave a very inspiring speech. There were several other speakers at our courthouse that day, and some good music as well. We had a great Tea Party, well attended by a variety of citizens, black, white, Latino, men, women, children, and a few conservative and well-behaved canines. I am not pleased by the racial implications connected with our city in this posting that has made rounds across the country. Why not dig up a copy of Dr. McKenzie’s speech and post it also? And Sheriff Guiterrez’s speech, and the rest of them? Yes, Dr. May’s speech is good. So were the others. I was there.
