I have a 1997 Hyundai Elantra that gets 35 MPG. Still runs great.

I suppose this is one of Obama's target cars.

Bernanke’s infamous “helicopter” speech made an oblique mention of this as a possibility. Virtually every crazy, desperate, probably illegal, trick in the book he threw out in that speech has been put into action.

I miss my 81 Buick Le Sable. Loved that car. It felt so safe. It was very comfortable too!

So let me get this straight. My tax dollars are going to people who want new cars???

Why am I paying for this again? Of all the other things we could be spending money on, we are doing this?!

Man...

We’re screwed. We’re so screwed. And I drive a 2001 Corolla and have been thinking about trading it in on a Jeep or Subaru.

So I get a little tax credit if I take on a monthly car payment, which I don’t have with my paid for truck?

That's exactly what this is about.

Message to Obama supporters: Sorry, neosocialists, but I would rather walk than buy a car made by a nationalized auto company. I would rather lose every single tax dollar that the thugs in the White House and in Congress have stolen from our children and grandchildren to pay off their union supporters than have this nationalization set a successful precedent for the next takeover target. I will not do business with TARP companies. I will not do business with bailout companies. They will die a richly deserved death if I have any say in the matter (and I do, as do all patriotic Americans).

I would like to see heavy manufacturing stay in this country, but it must be as a free industry in a free country, not as a toy for a dictator who is not constrained by contract law or by the rule of law.

People usually drive old clunkers because they can’t afford anything better. If the Government buys them chances are they’ll just buy another clunker if they can, not a new car they can’t afford.

Maybe Obama and company will buy them all a new vehicle too?
