some of them pushing baby carriages with dolls covered in fake blood

I'm sorry, but I think that kind of stuff isn't useful at all. It just turns people off, rather than changing hearts and minds.

Leave that sort of thing to the Code Pink harpies.

Agreed on the fake blood business. Gandhi/MLK style marches and sit-ins have a certain respectful nobility to them...this kind of theatrics makes the proponents look fringy.

Yes, no need for theare.

Full color photos of the dismembered-baby limb filled stainless steel trash receptacles in abortion mills might be more effective.

Or more subtly, the well-circulated images of the already very human growing child in the womb.

Can’t argue with the truth.

You are so right. They also violated university rules and those rules are there for everyone. I agree with you that this type of action turns people off. Pulling the stunt with strollers or baby carriages turns me off and I am pro-life. Buys the pro-life movement nothing but makes the news which is what some of the grandstanders wanted.

A march with a huge turnout is difficult for anyone to ignore. The media tend to focus on the “showy” aspects of protests — signs, people dressed in costume, etc. — but I think the real impact gets across when the sheer numbers of people can’t be ignored.

I'm sorry, but I think that kind of stuff isn't useful at all. It just turns people off, rather than changing hearts and minds.

Every war is won using a variety of tactics.

WWII used everything from leaflets, to rifles, to flamethrowers, to tanks, to atomic bombs. Every facet contributed to our win.

Same is true in this war against abortion. Every tactic makes it’s contribution. These blood covered carriages are perhaps the flamethrower equivalents. Very gruesome, revolting perhaps even to those who are pushing them, and possibly more effective than we can imagine.

Never forget...there are people on the left who infiltrate these protest.
Never put it pass them to pull a stunt such as this. Just saying.

I know it won’t be played out that way, but most know how the socialist of the world work their agendas.

Sometimes you have to attract attention to an issue to get the attention it deserves...sometimes it's not attractive, but necessary..

Change minds? This abortion thing has been the carrot that these liberal political bastards have dangled in the face of the people for 36 years, all in the name of the freedom. Yeah fake blood is a little childish, what they need to do is the real thing, and use a 7 month old unborn child as the example, let them see what the procedure is really like. A life moving, stirring and suddenly slaughtered right in front of Barack Obama and his ilk.

Thanks for posting this. The student group which is organizing legal protests with a permit from the University is ND Response.

Good website: you can see they have a full 2 days of prayers, plus a rally, May 16-17. Any members of the general public who want to pray/protest alongside them should contact them.

Keyes and the non-offically-pemitted group are at Stop Obama Notre Dame.

ALSO putting up billboards on Interstate 80/90 leading into South Bend/Notre Dame, and organizing buses from the Chicago and Detroit area to support the protests --- and needing your support --- contact Notre Dame Protest.com.

Lots of people are getting mobilized to make their voices heard. Like I said, they need your support.

"We've got a long established policy that only members of the university community can organize or lead a protest, and they have to be approved by our office of student affairs," Brown said.

Don't let your emotions get in the way. Then you're like the people who say "I hate guns." Think about the issue and how the passion of these protesters will be felt across the world.

Tribal, these are not leftist infiltrators. An absurd comment in this context.

some of them pushing baby carriages with dolls covered in fake blood,

Not helpful at all. This reminds me of the Brady Bunch and the Dozen Whacko moms against gun violence and their "shoe" protests, where they left 50,000 pair of baby shoes on the steps of the Capitol to exemplify the "kids" "murdered" by guns... I wonder if any of those firearms ever spent a day in jail for their crimes?

This kind of histrionic symbolism is only going to backfire. I wish they'd not done that.
